My Palm Centro is trying to Hotsync. It says the connection could not be established. I did not tell it to sync. I cannot get it to perform any other functions. It just keeps trying to sync. I even removed the battery to try to shut it off. Help

My Centro last Hot Synced at 7:23 PM. At 8:20, it could not establish a connection, using Cradle/cable. On the Centro, the message test is:

" The connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not be esatblished. Please check your setup and try again."

I powered off both the Windoes XP desktop, and the Centro. I did not remove the battery.

    No luck.

Hey! my centro is doing this too! but i figured out a way to exit out of it. it goes back to it after a while but you just have to do it again, all you have to do it let it sync and then when it says "the connection can not be establised...try again" instead of pressing okay you press your home button and the second you do that you have to pess the okay center button and click on something else. this will keep it from going back! but its only a temperary soultion but at least this way you can use your phone

Can't sync my palm z22 to my computer

I had this problem recently and once I checked all of my settings, and adjusted a couple, it worked fine. To do that, on the desktop computer, open Palm Desktop and go to HotSync and then, under that is Setup. When the set up window opens, click on connections and be sure the type of connection you use is selected. In my case, I use the USB cable. Close that window. On the handheld, click on the hotsync image and be sure the connection method matches what you set up. Local or modem are your choices. My selection is local. Go to Preferences on the handheld and select Communication. Select connection and a window opens. From that list, I selected cradle/cable. Hopefully that will work for you. Try doing a hotsync at that point, and see if the problem is fixed. Mine was.

Palm centro trying to synch without being connected to PC

Hello brad_bork,

Make sure bluetooth is turned off and the usb cable is not connected. Then do the following:

•Tap the hotsync icon
•Notice the words 'Local | Modem' side by side on the screen
•Tap 'Modem'
•Select 'Standard Modem' in drop-down list
•Enter any phone number (eg. 800-525-6452 *this is a non-working number)
•Press the Home button

Now hotsync should stop trying to sync automatically. When you want to run a hotsync Tap on 'Local' in the hotsync screen.

Hotsync problem

With a USB 1.1 machine .. try this ...My work around - disconnect ALL USB devices from the computer, NO multiport hubs, make a direct USB connection to one of the available open ports, then reboot the computer. Upon gaining control, then try to hotsync. If I had any other items connected or ran any other programs prior to hotsync, I was not able to perform a successful hotsync. The qwerks of the T5 and the sync conduits. Hope this helps Bob

Vx to Outlook 2002 failed - no connection Established

hi, on ur palm tap on home , u would see hotsync icon tap on that , on the hotsync page , u would see ur name on top or just welcome , make sure u see direct serial on the same page , tap on the top left corner where it says hotsync in words , in the drop down , tap on lan sync prefs , make sure local hotsync is darker in shade. on the pc make sure u see the hotsync manager at the bottom right corner , if not , click on start , click on all programs , choose palm desktop , inside that u would see hotsync manager , left double click on that , if it doesnt appear at the bottom right corner , try 4times , then if it still persists , restart the pc and try again. Once u see the hotsync manager at the bottom right corner , right click on that , left click on setup , left click on local , choose a different com port , reduce the speed to 9600 , click on ok restart ur pc and try hotsyncin , if it doesnt work try the previous step again and do not forget to restart ur pc , and then perform a hs , it will work .... Regards
