Well, after letting the new adapter sit on for 24hrs. and trying it with the battery in and with the battery out - no luck getting the computer turned on. I popped the keyboard case and right in front under the space bar was a small green wrapped Ni-MH battery with the number 4E3 stamped on it. It has a red and black wire running from it and is plugged into a little slot by virtue of a small white plastic female clip. Would this be the CMOS battery, do you think? And if so, where would I get a new one?

Any suggestions? Remember this is an older Toshiba Satellite Model # T1910CS/200 system unit. That's what is stamped on the back of it on a tag.

Here is the link to the original post

Someone indicated that the CMOS battery on your computer might need to be replaced but usually that will turn your computer on but not detect the drives. I'm sure it needs to be replaced though.

I know my Toshiba doesn't have the CMOS battery to store the drive and clock settings.

Let me know if that helps

That sounds like the CMOS battery.

My monitor hp compaq mv 7500 17 i am not able to turn it on or off

My guess is that the ON/OFF switch is broken.

It's time to responsibly recycle your old CRT monitor, and buy a new LCD monitor.

I am having trouble when I first turn monitor on. I get a flicker of an image and then black screen. I have to do this multiple times and eventually it stays on. Anything I can do?

m_v_schwartz, Best guess is problem with unit's "switch-mode-power-supply" / "CCFL inverter supply" has a bad "cold" or "frosty looking" solder joint (thermally intermittant solder connection) on the printed circuit board!!! Unit WILL NOT fix itself!! Only you or a qualified electronics technician will fix it. Use your warranty first if valid option!!!! See more of my responses to other LCD black screen symptom OWNERS that I have replied to in my fixya profile. Know and understand the "FLASHLIGHT TEST" that every LCD owner should know how to perform when "black screen" shows up. If this response steers you in right direction, please return to rate this response on fixya. FYI, Also visit web sites I have mentioned in the other responses in profile. Good luck with the repair. 12fixlouie

Run a veo webcam on windows vista

Unfortunately, it appears that there are no Vista drivers available for this product.

You will not be able to use your web camera on Windows Vista systems.

Perhaps manufacturer will release such drivers, but it cannot be guaranteed.

I strongly recommend buying hardware from bigger manufacturers, as it is almost sure that the drivers for new operating systems will be released.

I am truly sorry that your problem cannot be solved.

Mistake install

Hey, you can probably buy a windows 98se copy from ebay
or with some luck from a local pc shop / repair shop.

Microsoft stoped supporting windows 98 many years ago, and its no longer in production. So my guess is no.

Your best shot is to get it used.

Problem in opening the links !

Do you use a router, or are you connecting the modem straight to the laptop?

Does the modem have multiple plugs for computers to plug into (if so, it is functioning as a router as well.?

Do you have any firewall/internet security software installed?

My guess without the above information would be that it is a problem with your DNS setting. Open "Network Connections" and right click on your "Local area connection" and go to properties. Click on the "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP" entry and click properties. Be sure that it is set up to "Obtain DNS server address automatically"
