Question about HP PSC 1210 All-In-One InkJet Printer
All of a sudden, the scanner won't scan, but the printer and copier function works fine. The error message when scanning says " An error occurred communicating witht he scanning device. Please ensure that the scanning devise is connected properly and try again. Have changed USB port it was plugged into, unplugged it, still get the same message. Can you give me any suggestions? That describes exactly the problem I have; I tried to download new drivers, and even downloaded a patch that was supposed to solve this problem (according to HP), but nothing changed. I am using a HP PSC 1315 All-in-one , it used to scan fine; after uninstalling another software from Kodak, the scanning unit srneds that message (error communicating with the device); copying and printing still work fine I'm having the same problem with my hp psc 1210 All-in-one. Have tried all the suggested solutions, downloaded update file from HP, downloaded patch, uninstalled and re-installed several times. Is there any fix? HP SHOULD be able to supply software that makes their equipment work!

Im very sure that you encountered that message when trying to scaning using the HP Director / HP solution center. Here are the steps that i want you to do inorder to solve the issue.
1. Insert the CD that you used to install the Software.
2. The Window for installation will pop-up, CLICK ON UNINSTALL. (note: make sure that you unplug the usb cable from the back of your computer before uninstalling the SOftware).
3. When done, restart your computer.
4. Re-insert the CD and Click on INSTALL.
The reason why you encounter such problem might have something to do with the corrupted components of the Software installed in your pc.
