CT-5621T Multi-port ADSL2+ Router issue

I just got DSL installed by my local telco. They installed the Comtrend
CT-5621T Multi-port ADSL2+ Router. It currently is functioning in bridge mode but I want to use it as a router as well, but when I access the ebadmin page i am prompted for a username/password, the manual says defaults are root/12345, but that doesnt let me in. ISP doesnt know why and is of no help. I even reset the unit back to defaults and still same issue. I can view the status information on the webadmin page but cannot make any configuration changes. I am a network administrator with 9 years experience and I am at a loss for the solution. I have tried any and all variations of default logins for all type routers I have used before. CAn anyone explain this to me, whas the issue?? I personally thing its the ISP that has changed something in teh settings but they just started putting these devices in homes and the support does not even have a clye about them. Any help is appreciated. same as the dude above me, i cant figure out the default user or PW

    I have just had a Comtrend ADSL router installed by my ISP to replace a router that had failed. The model is CT-5621T. I also have a wireless router, Belkin model F5D9230-4 that is connected to the Comtrend. I can no longer download long files on the machines connected to wireless as the link times out after about 2 minutes. I did not have this problem before the Comtrend was installed. How do I trouble shoot this problem? All the firmware in both units is the latest version.

Do you have other wireless internet system in your area?
sometime they fight each other, I had netgear wireless and Linksys wireless for my internet. Because my business I added AT&T DSL high speed, as soon as AT&T instelled the unit, My wireless cable phone system and internet, both cut off, sometimes work but sometimes not, I just cancel AT&T DSL last month.

This is my own opion, maybe I am wrong.

I have a comtrend ADSL2+Ethernet Router hooked to my desktop Pc and a G-Wireless Router made by Belkin.According to the tech I should be able to connect these two to use my Laptops, but any way I've tried...

You dont need a Belkin Disk to set up - this can be done manually you can get a manual from this site http://en-us-support.belkin.com/app/product/list/q/routers/ select G in the first dropdown and then your model - theres two to choose from and then then the version
you have a choice - you could change the comtrend router to just use the modem - bridged mode - they have a few different routers see here http://www.comtrend.com/links/i$residential-adsl2-modem-router$product.htm so not sure which one you have if you can bridge to just use the modem then connect tothe Belkin and all PCs should connect to the Belkin
OR you can connect two routers together Leave the comtrend router set as it is -
Set the IP address of belkin router to same subnet as the comtrend. Depending on the DHCP range of the comtrend router - set the IP outside this range - so if comtrend is set to give an ip of 192.168.0.2 to 192.168.0.100 - set the belkin to 192.168.0.254 Disable the DHCP in the belkin.
Connect the comtrend LAN to one of the Belkin LAN ports - you may need to use a crossover cable. On the belkin the WAN port will be left unconnected

It's indicated on the back of the router for the exact voltage. It could only be 9V or 12V. For the polarity, the inner pin is the positive.

Comtrend ADSL2+ Router CT-5621T

there's quite serious security problem with this routers (not sure if it applies to exactly this type)

if your password if not the default you should try other account:
(username / password)
admin / admin
support / support
user / user

if you are logged in as a "user" you can't change anything but you can access change password page e.g.

http://192.168.1.1/password.html

then open source code of this page and inside javascript code you will find your password in plain text
<!-- hide
pwdAdmin = 'admin';
pwdSupport = 'support';
pwdUser = 'user';

Hi,

If your Comtrend CT-5621 came with the package from your ISP then it is possible that the username and password has been changed by your provider and you would have to get in touch with them.

In some instances the username is "root" and the password is "root".
Some known passwords from ISPs are:
Canadian Broadband/Aliant - RM60008
NetComm - NetC0mmV3oo

Some ISPs disabled/blocked the web based configuration interface and the initial way to communicate with it is a telnet session to the router.

Would you know if your default IP address of 10.0.0.1?

Good luck and kind regards.
