Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I have a Samsung HLR4677WX/XAA, 46" DLP that looses picture, but not sound, when I use a HDMI cable. I do not have the problem with HD RCA jacks. I originally thought it was my DVD player, but I have changed players and still experience the same issue. I have upgraded my choice of entertainment viewing liquor, so we can eliminate that as well, thanks.

I have seen this happen quite a bit. For some reason the input (cable jack) works loose from the board. I would try running your source signal (cable/dish) to another input on your tv...such as S Video/HDMI/Composite or whatever you have available.

The DLP does not have a flyback but if rear inputs work hook cable b o x there via audio/video cables or use a VCR (does not have to play tapes) via its av jacks to one set on back of tv.

If Video rear inputs are good but antenna, coax are not B Y P A S S the problem.

Re soldering the sockets connections on the pcboard will normally fix this problem. It is unusual to require a socket but possible. Sockets are available through a good electronics outlet, depending on your country.

In most cases you will not be able to see a great difference between HDMI and Component connections. As far as not seeing a difference between HD and SD signals from your cable box, go into the settings of it and see what resolution it is putting out. If you have a Motorola cable box, with it off and the TV on press the menu button and the setup screen will appear. That will tell you the output resolution as well as what the 4:3 override is set to. Please take a few moments to rate my answer. Thanks....

When my ps3 is plugged into my samsung hln467w with an auvio hdmi to dvi cord there is no sound.what should i change so that i have the nice picture with sound?

Audio is only carried on HDMI and not DVI. You can get video only with this type of cable. HDMI to HDMI would work but not HDMI to any other connector. You can run a seperate dual RCA (red and white) to your system to get audio.

Rca 46 inch lcd tv, no sound

Go into the menu and change the HDMI Audio settings - the manual will give you a breakdown on this. HDMI is a little glitchy - if you were using red/gree/blue cables before switching to HDMI, you might want to consider going back to them - just an opinion.

None of the cables you mention are HD. Does your box have a HDMI out? If it does, an HDMI cable is what you need if your tv has an HDMI input jack.

Samsung Rear Projection DLP HDMI Captions

The captions are turned on in the cable box itself. If you have a Motorola cable box, turn it off then hit the menu button for the cable box. You will then see where you can turn off the closed captioning. Anymore questions email me tvtek@msn.com
