I have a AVR-591. I hooked everything up and all works great. The only thing I want to know is when I turn off the receiver I have no TV. How do I bypass the receiver so I can watch TV without the reciever on all the time? Thank you.

You said the magic word - BYPASS.

Your TV source is probably a cable or sat box. They usually have multiple audio and video OUTputs and most TV's have multiple audio and video INputs.

Run the box's analog RCA Audio Out to the TV (assuming it has speakers). Set the box's internal volume setting (if it has one) to FIXED and modulate theTV volume with ITS control.

HI-DEF:

Lacking sufficient hi-def inputs on the TV, I'd elect for Component Video from the box and HDMI from your BD player, if you have one. Cable video is bit-rate compromised while BD source is NOT so BD should get the best connection.

I personally have NO high-end video going into my receiver and no high-end audio going to my TV. Why bother with hops?

Receiver wont hold memory, all levels go to zero when turned off

I'm not sure about this receiver, but it has one of three things, batteries on the back of the unit(very old school) a battery backup inside the unit, or a Super Capacitor(capacitor backup around 1f).

This is where a circuit diagram would come in handy, displays are tricky to trouble shoot, and this a job for a pro.

I have a denon AVR-591 receiver. its hook up but i can't hear anything. can someone help me out

Crack the manual open and do the speaker setup routine. It's there to establish hardware integrity before you listen to actual programming.

Component video problem. Hi I got the Denon AVR-3806 receiver and has it hooked up with a component cable to my background projection TV. To the reciever I have a satellite box connected also with a...

Just fixed this myself - made my head hurt to figure out. 1. Switch to a setting (say DVD). 2. Watch the AVR screen as it switches. You'll see the audio and video settings. For example, Audio = DVD, Video = DVD (Mine showed Audio = DVD, Video = DBS even though is was set correctly using the SETUP for audio and video)3. Under the round control knob on the left, push the (tiny) Video Select button. 4. Turn control know to choose the correct video source
Your system should work right. Mine did.

I need help configuring my denon avr 2801 receiver, im trying to hook it up to my tv for surround sound

Just moved and got mine hooked up last week. Was working great and now I can't get anything. The reassuring "click" I've always heard when I switch between inputs is gone. Anyway enough about my issue, what specifically are you having trouble with?

My Denon AVR 1905 is hooked up with surround sound to a new LED Samsung 6200 series. The picture is fine / the sound is fine but the lip sych is not. Is there any way to fix this??.I have had a technician...

You need to see if the TV's sound, not the receiver is out of sync also. Turn up the sound on the tv and turn down on receiver. If it syncs correctly, your receiver isn't fast enough to process both correctly. You will have to upgrade your receiver to one that supports HDMI 1.4. Samsung sells one that works great, model # HW-C500.

No video on Denon avr 688

After days of frustration the real problem was with the cable box. It needed a firmware update. Following forum advice I disconnected the cable box power cord for a few minutes, reconnected it, allowed the cable box to reinitialize. Turned off receiver and TV. Turned TV back on and set it to HDMI connection, turned on receiver and all worked fine. Great picture and sound.( Needed to buy an optical cable to go from the cable box to the receiver to get sound from the speaker system. )--the dirtybird

Denon avr-1907 sound from TV stopped working

Help with hooking PS3 to a Denon Receiver. It worked before, but I had to move everything to a different location and when I hooked it back up the PS3 has sound but no picture. I have it hooked directly to the receiver with and HDMI cable (the receiver is hooked up to our cable box which is directly hooked to the tv via HDMI cable).

Denon AVR 887 Upconversion With Wii

I have this hookup and it's working almost perfectly:

Wii --component--> Avr-887 --HDMI--> Sharp LCD TV

Sometimes the pictures don't show up during start up, but I figured it was (probably) due to Sharp's HDMI handshake issue, so I turned the TV off and then on, everything works.
