It might be due to software settings or the version of the flash plug in. I suggest you to update your flash player from, also you can use alternate browsers such as opera or firefox (

My youtube videos freeze

This is typically because your internet connection is not fast enough to stream the content. There for once it has played all presently downloaded content it will stop and while it downloads more of the video.

After downloading Win 7 on my dell studio 1535, my microphones stopped working. My webcam also tells me I need to download video chat. I've downloaded it but it won't upload.

Go to the Dell Download area ( ) and choose the drivers you need. This laptop is not officially supported under Windows 7, so you will have to try the drivers for the Vista version. These often work, but not always.

Video's on the web skip and stop instead of playing straight through. A 3 min video can take 10 minutes to watch????

While starting to play a YouTube video, press the PAUSE button.
Wait 2 minutes, and press the PLAY button.

If it plays "smoothly", then the only problem is the speed of your Internet connection. For example, if you have a teenage son,
and supply him with only one cheese-burger per day, he will complain that you are "starving" him. If you supply him more quickly, i.e., more burgers per day, he will stop complaining.
Similarly, a faster Internet connection will smooth-out your videos,
because the download is supplying data faster than your video-player is "consuming" the data.

Video/sound problem

When you say Reboot, I assume you mean re-install Windows XP. Many issues can occur if you do not install the drivers properly after installing Windows. The proper order is as Follows:

Notebook System Software
Chipset Utility
Video Driver
Audio Driver
Network Driver
Wireless Driver
Touchpad Driver

Also after installing Windows and the drivers, you'll need to go to and install Java, then and install the latest Flash and Shockwave Players.

It is also recommended that you have the latest BIOS flash of the system. The current bios version is A09

All drivers can be found here:
