Replace wifi card qosmio 35

1) All power removed. Remove the AC adapter (Charger) and Battery.

2) Remove the Keyboard Holder. This is the thin strip of plastic located above the Keyboard, and below the LCD Module.

There is a slot above the Keyboard Holder. Place a finger in the Slot, lift up the Keyboard Holder while unlatching.

3) Remove the Keyboard. For this procedure the Keyboard does not have to be entirely removed.
Just unlatched, Flipped over, and laid on the Palmrest Cover.
(The Keyboard Cable is still attached to the Keyboard)

There are 2 screws to remove before removing the Keyboard. One on the Left, and one on the Right. There is a release tab also. Top/Middle.
Press it in, then lift this side of the Keyboard up.

CAUTION!
The Keyboard can only be lifted to no more than a 45 degree angle, then it is slid forward towards the LCD Module.

There are plastic tabs formed out of the frame of the Keyboard, on the bottom side. (Side towards you)
If you lift the Keyboard straight up to a 90 degree angle, you can break the tabs off!

(The Keyboard Cable is under the small metal Keyboard Support Plate. There is a SPECIAL method, to disconnect the Keyboard Cable from the motherboard )

Step 10 shows the Wi-Fi (Wireless LAN Module) module, and the Bluetooth module. (BT)
IF, your laptop came with Bluetooth.

WHEN you unplug the two cables from the Wireless LAN Module, be SURE to make notes, and/or marks, on the connections they go to.
Color of the wire, and what terminal it connects to.

Put them back in the same place. Always route the wires back in the SAME channels, and Latches, they were originally.
Failure to do so may pinch a wire, and cause damage. At the very least the laptop will Not go back together.

Two Philips head screws hold the Wireless LAN Module in place.
Do NOT drop them.

The opposite end of the Wireless LAN Module plugs into a connector.
The module is to be removed at NO MORE than a 45 degree angle.

Failure to do so, and lift it straight up, will damage the connector, and the module.

How to install a Kingston 1GB DDR2 memory into the Toshiba Satellite A135 S2386 laptop

The memory compartment is dead center of the bottom of the case. open the access door and look at the modules in their slots. On either side of the module you will see a silver arm that flexes. Pull these arms off to the outside away from the module. The module will flip up at a 45 degree angle. Pull the module from the slot at that 45 degree angle. To insert the module back into the slot, go at the slot at that same 45 degree angle and push into the slot until it "seats", it only goes in one way because of a "keyway" slot cut into the bottom where the gold contacts are. Once you have "seated" it, push the module straight down and the arms will snap into place. If you are replacing both, make sure to put the bottom one in first, then the top.

Power flashing

It is due to a bad RAM or improperly seated one. The RAM is under a small lid on the back side and the lid has two screws. Remove the screws. You will see it. Pull apart the two arms of the RAM socket gently and take it out . Insert it back by holding 45 degree angle. Remember to unplug the AC adapter and the battery before attemping any service. If it shows the same symptom again, change the RAM with a known good one. Make a reply for this.

Increase RAM memory to maximum possible in a Satellite A215-S7428. Currently at 2 gigs. I would also like to know the difficulty of performing the upgrade myself and how to if possible.

This is one of the easiest upgrades you can perform. There is an access panel on the underside of the laptop that usually holds the ram chips as well as the network card but not always. The access door is usally indicated by a single or two small rectangular icons. Remove the screws, the screws sometimes have a washer that allows them to stay with the cover. The covers also have small plastic tabs that are used to hold it securely in place, pry the cover off and there should be two ram sticks sitting in their slots and held on each side by a clip that engages the side of the memory chip. Pull the clips away from the sides of the chip and the chip will spring up 45 degrees from the socket. Pull the chip away at that 45 degree angle and look at the position of the notch cut in the pin side of the chip. Get the new chip and position it the same way for installation, notch in the correct place and chip goes in at a 45 degree angle. Once the chip is seated in the slot push it down untill it click through the holding clips and the chip is installed. When you fire the laptop back up, windows will recognize the new chips if they are seated correctly and there is nothing more you have to do. If they are not seated correctly, the laptop may not even boot...you'll know either way.
