Make sure you have not protected the drive and that it is shared for use. Go to my computer, right click on the drive and select sharing .. make sure you have the drive shared and that it DOES NOT show it as READ ONLY in the check boxes at the bottom of the screen.

How to move/copy user files to external hard disc (wall or usb powered) so that productivity applications default-save to the external hard disc (virtual drive) folder via ...

When you connect an USB drive to a Windows machine, or a Mac the drive is shown. On a Windows machine in the explorer with a new drive letter, like D: or E: on a Mac it is on the desktop with a name.
Then you can access it as any other drive. But if you are using program's like Office, you have to tell the software what drive and what folder is the default folder to save your data.

In explorer and on the Mac with finder, you also can move files around to any folder you want. On the internal drive or to the external drive.

Sabrent external floppy reader is asking me to format my floppy disk. how can a format it without deleting my files on floppy disk?

Your floppy disk drive may be defective. Also, Some floppy drives are manufactured differently. Your best bet is to find another floppy drive to read your floppy disk. You can try to take it to the nearest computer store and ask them to read it for you. If they can read it at the computer store? The Sabrent drive you received if bad. If they cannot read it the floppy is bad. If the floppy is bad you can try to download free data recovery software to attempt to recover your data, files etc. Good luck

Computer says code 43 for hard drive converter by sabrent.

That is usually an error code related to the wrong drivers. Go to device manager in windows to see what it says. If there is something on the device list showing an error you need to go here and download the drivers. https://www.sabrent.com/downloads/

Files disappearing on external hard-drive (nexstar.3)

In this case you should use data recovery software to try recovering the files and data, provided those lost data are not fully overwrtten.

Be careful: Before your files are recovered, do not attempt to save more files to the external in case the original files are overwritten.
