The problem I put to FixYa was: I inadvertently changed the installer code for the Visonic Powermax Plus alarm system to 0000. This resulted in me being locked out as per the note below figure 4.1c page 8 in the Installers Guide DE5467IP. My question was: Is there any way to recover from this situation to reinstate the previous installer code or to reset it to the factory 9999? As an answer I received from FixYa a generalised answer for resetting alarm systems that is not addressing my problem or helping me in any way. Is FixYa for real or not?

Unless the installer code is stored in a battery backed memory (not likely) you don't have much of a chance to recover this OTHER than to call the factory for help. You MAY have to send the unit in as they probably have a piece of equipment that can backdoor reset it.

Low battery warning reappearing on Visonic Powermax pir motion sensor

If the low battery warning keeps reappearing on your Visonic Powermax PIR motion sensor, it is likely that the battery needs to be replaced. Here are the steps you can follow to replace the battery:
  1. Remove the battery cover on the back of the sensor by pressing the tab and pulling the cover off.
  2. Remove the old battery and dispose of it properly.
  3. Insert a fresh CR123A lithium battery into the battery compartment. Make sure to insert the battery with the positive (+) end facing outward.
  4. Reattach the battery cover to the sensor.
  5. Test the sensor to ensure that it is functioning properly.
If the low battery warning continues to appear even after you have replaced the battery, there may be a problem with the sensor itself. In this case, it is best to contact the manufacturer or a qualified technician for assistance.

The kit includes a line plug with 2 screws for wires. assuming it is a phone wire that is to be used which of the 4 phone wires should be inserted into the line plug.

Usually the green and red, but best way to find out is pop the phone port box where you land line comes into the house, and check to see what wires are used. Some countries use 2 wire systems others use 4

I have a visonic intruder alarm, do i have to reset it if i have changed my phone line number?

Hi, No, you just change your number in the user settings page.

Press next on the front twice to 'user settings' put your code in.. then you are on the phone number setting as the menu begins, press OK and change it with the numeric pad. enjoy

I have a Visonic Powermax and we have it install in our Church however the member that installed it no longer attends our Church and I need to reset the Installer code so that I can conduct tests and add...

I found this on the "Home Securty Store" website:

To reset the Visonic Powermax installers code to 9999
The User Code 1 will also be reset to 1111
Unplug the ac transformer and disconnect the main units back up battery then flip it over and find the pins labeled "DEF" on the circuit board. Lower right side of circuit board.
You'll need to short the two pins closest to the bottom of the powermax+ unit labeled DEF,a metal paper clip works just fine.
Have someone plug in the ac transformer while holding the short.Hold this for 10 seconds then unplug the transformer before removing the short.
Remove the short and turn the unit over, plug it back in and try 9999 as the Installer's Code.
(If the reset did not work the first time, try again making sure the short between the def points remains closed during the 10 second power up.)
