You need to install the SOFTWARE that came with the camera before you hook the camera up to your PC. If you hooked the camera up first you will need to UNINSTALL it and then run the software and reattach the camera.
Follow the promts in the software to set up the system, but keep in mind that A LOT of earlier cameras and especially Dynex have issues with XP and other Newer Systems.
If you have a webcam installed on a Laptop then you should have a readme file availble for setup.
