This is the strangest thing I've ever seen. I have a Gateway FPD1975W TFT Monitor and its always worked great. The other day it went into a sleep mode via windows, and now it wont boot up the input...

Hello,

Your monitor problem is causes by the power supply. What is happening is the power supply voltages are not stable, just enough to power the unit up. When you connect it to a video signal the power demands slightly increase and the power supply can't handle it. This is a very common problem with LCD after a few years of use. The issue with the power supply is the capacitors have started to fail. These parts are used to filter the output voltage and when they start to fail the outputs start rippling hence the problem you are having. Here is a link to a repair article that shows how to repair the Gateway FPD1975W monitor.

I hope this helps you get back going.

Hello, I have 7 no. of Philips 105G7 CRT monitors purchased in 2006. 4 of them are working fine but three of them started failing one by one since a year. First was in July last year and the recent one was...

The cracking problem is probably high voltage arcing inside the monitor due to insulation breakdown or components breaking down or dust and moisture causing arcing. I suggest you dispose of these monitors, they could pose a fire risk. Instead of trying to repair them. Do not try to repair the monitors yourself, there are dangerous high voltages inside these crt monitors.
I suggest you put your money towards a LCD monitor, these are fairly cheap and very energy efficient.

Hp w2007 blank screen

we have here , like 1000s of black screens posted here now.
all the same all with CCFL lamps. that die. same solution.
older monitors have a power saver mode inside it,
push the front button called menu, then see OSD menu
then find and turn off power saver.
if the OSD fails to show up; the CCFL are dead.
this monitor was made in 2007, and 2010 is the starting year
for ending the usage of CCFL (starting on large screens working to small)

im reading your manual for you now, free.
page 4 tells you it has CCFT (T mean Tube, L means lamp)
same same.
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1110533/Hp-W2007.html?page=4#manual

now lets look at the page on saver. power

page 7, (its on by default ) oops !
https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1110533/Hp-W2007.html?page=7#manual

turn saver OFF
see next page 8 and turn DDC ON.
see sleep timer and turn that all off.
if you push factory reset, it the problem begins again.
bad. for you.

https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1110533/Hp-https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1110533/Hp-W2007.html?page=8#manual

you can in fact download the whole manual.
for free. here. the site on the internet in this regard.

all old HP monitors are made for old PC 2000 year.
your PC is not 17 years old i bet.
so all this old saver stuff is now WRONG.
(all this is old school Energy Star , malarkey, )

HP monitor vs17 goes black with power light flashing

I have repaired an HP 1702 monitor that had similar symptoms by replacing the capacitors on the power supply board but you have to have some electronic knowledge and do some soldering if you can buy the replacement capacitors($10+/-) from a supply store. They (at least 1) will be swollen up on the ends and may have a tar-like substance leaking from them. It is best to replace them all (may be 4 depending on the model).

Monitor goes blank less than a second after turning on.

I start my computer and turn it on, and everything looks fine for about 1/4 of a second and then it goes black while leaving the power light green. I can only see the screen again after turning it off and on, but that's only for another 1/4 second. What's up?
I got my rosewill flatscreen as a hand me down from my father. I've had it for several years now. Was working fine until a month ago. When I turn the computer on the screen goes black after 1/4 of a saecond. I have to turn it off and on anywhere from 10 to 20 times before it stays on. I have checked all plugs to the computer and outlets. I have absolutely no idea whats causing this.
