Remove the vga cable and see any display is coming up in your laptop like no connection or no signal

If not assume your monitor is gone so far from you, catch a new one and let it go

Thanks Hothawk

Monitor remains black after start up

Be sure your monitor cable is plugged in tightly on both ends (computer & monitor). If still not working, try another monitor (borrow from a friend, family, another computer). If that works, your monitor went bad.

Screen gets black

Typically the graphics card went out. Other possibilities include, loose monitor cable or short in the cable, or incorrect graphics driver installed or missing, or monitor is shot (least possible). Things to look for: When booting up are you able to see words in the monitor or is there a series of non-regular error code beeps? If beeps then most likely your graphics card is either loose or fried, or incompatible. If you it works fine, but the light on the monitor turns orange and screen goes black, then it's most likely a loose monitor data cable or there is a short in the cable, or monitor's power cable is loose. Then check both connections, power and data on the monitor, and also where it hooks to the computer make sure it's screwed in snug.

My gateway monitor went black and the on/off button is blinking continually. I can't get any picture and it won't shut off unless I unplug it./ Is there a re-set button anywhere? Or is this just shot...

So--first, is the computer running? Does it start up and give you the beep that means it passed the POST?
Do you see anything at all on the monitor during this process (assuming the computer is booting up OK?
Have you checked the monitor cables?
Do you get a message on the monitor saying that there is no signal?
If none of these is true, then you're correct--your monitor will probably need to be replaced.

HP laptop monitor for dv7-1170us does not work

It sounds like your flat vga cable has pulled loose inside the panel. Just take the lid apart on your screen assembly and press that flat ribbon cable back in and tape it in place.

The l226wtq goes black

Try shining a flashlight on the screen, or without the flashlight, try to see if you can distinguish anything on the screen at all, if you do, the backlight is dead, or the monitor has an internal most likely unfixable problem.

TFT monitor went dead

Hi
How old is your TFT Monitor?
It looks like the Monitor has got some problem.
First, make sure the cables are connected correctly.
Try Changing the connecting cable (between monitor and pc) with another one.
Try using another monitor with your pc & using same cables.
If the problem persits, pls try your monitor on another Computer.
This is all what you can do, if the problem wasn't solved, then maybe the problem is in the monitor that you need to take it to a specialit to repair it for you.
I hope my steps were helpful.
