Question about Canon Cameras
Some internal problem.
If you think it is worth fixing by Canon, you can send it to them for evaluation, even if it is not under warranty.
This seems to be some internal electrical problem with the system.

Please note that this page has to do with a specific ccd problem, but you can find other information as well including the 800 number you can call for information and repair estimates. Canon may have a refurbished product which could be cheaper than fixing your item.
