Annmelba,

I think you'll find the EOS to be a fairly durable series. Just to cover your bases, I would clean the inside battery contacts with a Q-tip and some alcohol. That said, I suspect you may have to take your camera to an authorized repair facility - a quote should run you about $60 if the device is out of warranty and depending on the nature of the problem, the repair could cost considerably less than a new camera.

Thank you.

Camera wont turn on even after switching batteries.

Have you checked both batteries for voltage. Connect to the USB and leave it for a while, see if the Flip shows any sign of life. If it does both batteries may be flat or there is a bad connection to the battery in the flip. If no sign of life on USB then I'm afraid it is faulty and you will have to dismantle it to investigate unless it is still under warranty.
I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.

I have the same problem- got this response from Sony (within 33 minutes of sending my email!)

Thank you for contacting Sony Support.
I am sorry that your Konica Minolta Camera does not turn on with the battery. I suggest that you try with different battery and check the operation. If the issue still persists, turn if off, remove and reinsert the battery, or unplug and reconnect the AC adaptor.
If the issue persists after following all the steps service will be required. You can find repair information and initiate service at:
http://eservice.sony.com
TIP: Be sure to change the "Product Company"
radio button to indicate Konica / Minolta.
Thank you for being a valued Sony Customer.

Could be either. If on switch on again the indicator is full and you get more work done then its a camera fault. If when you switch on again the battery remains flat then this could be the camera fault too the flash capacitor showing signs of distress. On the other hansd the battery could be nearing the end it useful life. How much is a new battery?

Try taking the batteries out of the camera for a few minutes, and see if that helps to "reboot" the camera.

This could be any of hundreds of different faults so I'll give you the ones you can check yourself. One or more of your batteries are faulty. The battery contacts are dirty. The batteries are inserted wrongly. You have a problem with the lens mechanism. Shake camera and listen for anything rattling around. If metal it could short anything out. Check your troubleshooting chart in your user's manual. Google for "Panasonic Lumix LZ2 problems" Is the power switch feeling as if it's actually switching. Has the camera been dropped or given swimming lessons. Check all your switches to make sure nothing is disabled. Apart from these it's impossible to say what's wrong. A trip to a repair shop may be in order.
