Help I have a set of Lanzar Opti 1234D 1100rms 2200 max peak dual voice coils 4Ohm's and running them with a Lanzar Opti 4000D 4000 rms at 1ohm. I hooked them up like this: the neg to the pos and the other neg to the neg on the amp and the other pos to the pos on the amp, same on othe rspeaker. Now the amp has only one pos and one neg so I had to run both of the pos to the pos and both of the neg to the neg. Assuming I ran the sub in a 8 ohm load and by the way I had to hook them up to the amp now they are running at 4ohm's. at 4 ohm my amp produces 1000rms at 3 ohms 2000rms at 2 ohm 3000rms and at 1 ohm 4000 rms. If I conected it all right how high can I turn up my gain on the amp so I don't fry the sub? The shop done it for me the first time and fried the subs within 30 inutes. They hooked up the neg to the neg and plus to the plus and into the amp plus to plus and neg to neg and they popped. I got them in a sealled box, they are ponding and the amp is'nt getting hot. I got the gain just a little passed the quater marker but am scarred to turn the volume to high. radio goes to 35 max and i kep it at 18, How how can i turn the gain up?????I'm using 8 gage wire for the subs and 0 gage for the amp. can any one help? How high can I turn the gain and did i wire the subs right????? Regards, Sean

One wire to pos to amp plus to speaker one. now secound speker use neg. to neg. on amp. now take a speaker wire and hook up the remaining neg. post. on the spekers. This will run them in seris like my 4000watt rms amp at a 2 ohm load. Make sur your speakers can handel the rms load of amp. If not they will blow.

Will a Lanzar Vibe 286 4000 watt amp push a power acoustik fubr 12 700 rms 1800 max ....

Yes it should do the job. You will need to wire the sub in series and make sure you have a 4ohm load on the amp. It should be right at around 700 watts RMS @ 12-13 volts.

Would a Pyramid 15" subwoofer work for my Yamaha synthasiser?

Do yourself a favor do not get anything Pyramid they are cheap for a reason and you will not get good bass response from them even in a optimal enclosure. If you want nice bass for little money go with lanzar opti 1535D sub you can pick one up for around $265 and will blow away Pyramid any day.

How do wire my 15'' to 1ohm

If each voice coil is rated at 2-ohm, then wire it in "parallel". This will make a 1-ohm total load.

amp pos. out to coil 1 pos. to coil 2 pos.

amp neg. out to coil 1 neg. to coil 2 neg.

If the they are dual 4-ohm, the rating would be 2-ohm in parallel.

    I have 2 jl-w6 subs n a orion hcca 250 amp how do i run wirering

    Hello brianmitchel,

From what I am able to determine, the Orion HCCA250 is a bridgeable 2-channel amp that is stable to 1ohm when bridged and outputs 800 watts RMS into that load.

The JL W6's in both 10" and 12" versions are dual voice coil with 4ohm coils so they can be wired to present either an 8ohm load (series) or a 2ohm load (parallel). They can handle 600 watts RMS.

With this combination, the best configuration would be to wire the sub voice coils in parallel for a 2ohm load and then parallel both subs to the amp bridged terminals for a final impedance of 1ohm. The subs will each be getting 400 watts.

In any event, I would not recommend running subs in series. There is some evidence for distortion being caused by something termed "back EMF".

    Hope this helps.

    Ppi dcx 1500.1 is it 2 powerful 4 da 12in. L7?

    Hello montyski20,

The amp outputs 500 watts RMS into 4ohms, 750 watts RMS into 2ohms and 1000 RMS into 1ohm.

The L7 can handle 750 watts RMS (375 watts per each coil). If your L7 is the 2ohm version, you should wire the voice coils in series, the positive marked coil to the negative unmarked coil. Then connect the remaining positive and negative to the amp terminals. This gives you a 4ohm load (500 watts). If your L7 is the 4ohm version, wire the voice coils in parallel, both marked and unmarked positives together, likewise both negatives and then to the amp terminals. This gives a 2ohm load (750 watts).

Paralleling the 2ohm sub will result in a 1ohm load (1000 watts) and that is too much for the L7.

    Hope this helps.

2 ohm speakers wont work on a lanzar max pro 4000 watt

The 2 ohm stable rating on the amp is PER channel meaning that you could effectively hook up a 2 ohm speaker or a 2 ohm load to each channel without the amp getting f"d up-butin bridged mode it will only be 4 ohm stable. to achieve a 4 ohm load with your sub the type x wire the coils in series that will get you at 4 ohms to run in bridged mono .But you will get the exact same amount of power if you wire each coil to one channel of the amp as bridged mono sees the sum of your 2 ohm channels combined-Hope that helps.

    Wireing diagrams

    Hello stingerman20,

Your Directed D2400 amp is CEA2006 Compliant. It is stable at 1ohm and will produce 1,200 watts into that load. So you want your subs wired as close to 1 ohm as possible.

The only 3500 watt Pioneer Premier series subs I could find were the models number TS-W3002D2 and TS-W3002D4 with dual 2ohm and dual 4ohm voice coils respectively. The wiring options for the D2's result in 0.5ohm (too low), 2 ohms, and 8ohms. Your best option would be the 2ohm configuration which would be voice coils in series and subs in parallel. Options for the D4's result in a 1ohm load and a 4ohm load. Your best option would be the 1ohm configuration which would be voice coils and subs parallel.

To see the wiring options, try Rockford-Fosgate's "wiring wizard".
Select 2 woofers and the appropriate voice coil impedance and quantity and click "search". It'll bring up all of the possible wiring configurations along with the final impedance load.

    Hope this helps.

DONT KNOW HOW TO RUN 2 OHMS

    Hello storres18,

If you have the Kicker model number 06CVX122, with dual 2ohm voice coils, they can be connected to a mono amp at 2ohms. First jumper the voice coils in series, the dotted positive (+) to the undotted negative (-) (or vice versa). Each sub is now 4ohms. Then wire both of the remaining positives and negatives together on the amp terminals (in parallel). The amp sees a 2ohm load. Here's the diagram:

    8863dd7.gif
If you have the Kicker model number 06CVX124 with dual 4ohm voice coils, they cannot be wired to present a 2ohm load. They can only be wired as a 1ohm load (too low for the amp) or as a 4ohm load (at reduced power). Here is the diagram of the 4ohm wiring:

    Hope this helps.

I have 2 kicker l7 12 dual voice coil subs.. i just friend a hifonics 1600w amp and am wondering if a kx 1200.1 kicker amp will be enough to power them they are 750w rms a piece .. can these be run at 1...

it all depends on the impendance of your subs if u have duel 4ohm or duel 2ohm, 2 duel 4ohm speakers can be wired at 1ohm to the amp, and with a kx1200.1 that would be pushin 2400 peak and 1200rms
if ya have 2 duel 2ohm speaker than you can only wire them to 2ohm and would be pushing 1200 peak and 600 rms with the kx1200, so if you have the duel 4ohm i would go with the kx1200.1 and if u have the duel 2ohm i would go with the hifoncs
