Hi Charles,
According to:
Product Description
Color: Brown
The Maxell 2.4 GHz Wireless Safari Mini Optical Mice have more than cool looks. Since they are 2.4 GHz wireless optical you'll notice less signal loss. They also have 3 key buttons and a scroll wheel so you can speed through your computer programs. The Maxell mice are wireless so you don't need to worry about wires getting in the way. They can detect a computer up to 32 feet away. These are compatible with Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000, ME, Mac OS 10.0 or above. Requires one AAA battery.
- So i do believe there is no on an off button on that mouse as I read on this site that says: "This one doesn't have an on/of switch, so in order to turn it off you have to disconnect the USB every time and store it underneath the mouse (annoying) . also, if it's idle for a minute (maybe less) the mouse goes in sleep mode and you have to disconnect the USB to wake it back up (super annoying) . The mouse works fine, it just gets old having to take it in and out all the time".

The most important external device that connects to your computer is
your mouse. Used in coordination with the wireless keyboard, the mouse is
essential to using any current operating system. Many people are not

Have you tried re-setting the frequency for one of the devices? simply click the button on the infra-red unit then click the button on the back of keyboard and notice the infra-red unit stopped scanning.
