HOW TO CONNECT PRINTER TO MAC

Acquire the Mac printer driver either by downloading it or getting it on CD. Most printers come with the drivers needed to run the printer. You can also check the printer manufacturer's website to get the correct drivers.

Be sure that your printer is connected to your Mac and turned on. Reboot your computer if you connected the printer after your last reboot.

Double click on the .dmg or installer file for the driver. If you got the software on CD instead of downloading it, load the CD into your Mac and then double click on the .dmg file. This is called "unpacking" the software.

"Mount" the printer driver by copying the files to your hard drive. To do this, just drag and drop the files into the folder where you want to save your software. The Mac will then copy the files to the location you specified.

Follow any further instructions the installation software gives you to complete the installation process.

"Eject" the .dmg or installer file. To do this, drag the file from your desktop into the trash can.

Open the Print Center on your Mac and then click the "ALT" key and "Add" at the same time. You should see a list of printers that includes the one you are installing. Choose this printer and click the "Add" button in the dialog box.

Reboot your computer if you do not see the printer on the list. Be sure that the printer is turned on and connected to your Mac first.

Your printer might already be on the printer list before you install the manufacturer software. If this is the case, remove it from the printer list before you install the software. Then add the printer back to the list.

i can't found any scanner driver.....i can print but scann....it's impossible SCX-4300

What OS are you running? I don't see any full-feature software but the Samsung site lists a print driver, a scan driver, a universal print driver and a universal scan driver for Windows 2000 through Win7 x64. Similar drivers are also available for the Mac OSX. I'm not certain of the features in the "unified driver" for Linux. The full-feature software is available for Windows.

To find these drivers, go to http://www.samsung.com/ph/consumer/monitor-peripherals-printer/printer-multifunction/mono-multifunction/SCX-4300/XSS/index.idx?pagetype=prd_detail&tab=support . Click on the Downloads tab and then select Driver. The windows files are all .exe files.

For the SmartThru software go to the above link and select Software instead of Driver. With this software, you will be able to launch a scan from the printer if the monitoring program is running. You should be able to start a scan from the computer with any OS and the Samsung drivers.

Windows XP, Vista and 7 can all acquire scans with Windows software. You can use Paint in all three (File > Import from Camera or Scanner > New Scan). Vista and Win7 add Windows Fax and Scan (New Scan). Vista came with Photogallery and it acquires scans like Paint. (You can download it for XP or Win7.) The Mac also can acquire scans with included software.

One issue that can cause a scanner problem is a bad cable. Scanning requires bidirectional communication with the printer and thus may fail when the printer works. Replace the data cable and make sure to use a direct connection (no USB hub or print server) if you can launch the scan but then it stops.

I hope this helps.

i can't install the cd rom on my computer i have a macproduct is pixma mp480

I don't know if I understood your problem correctly: you have a Canon Pixma MP480 and you want to install it in a computer with MAC OS and the CD that came with the printer is for Windows systems?

CANON has drivers and software available for your printer and MAC OS X. You can dowload them from PIXMA MP480 Photo All-In-One-Printer support homepage .

On that page, clickon the "Drivers & Downloads" tab and then select your operating system to get a list of compatible drivers, sofware and manuals.
Download the printer and scanner drivers compatible with your system, from "Drivers" section and select and download the software you need from the 'Software section".
For help and troubleshooting installation issues, click on 'Support & Service".
If I misunderstood your post and you have a different problem, please comment and I will try to help more.

installation

I work for kodak and this is actually a very easy fix.
The MAC OS 10.4.11 won't install off the cd only the website.
The cd sees that the OS is 10.4.1 not 10.4.11 just a glitch and the fix is installing from the website.

And no you need at least 10.4.8 to run the kodak printer on macs.
