How to install a microphone in my computer for skype use?

The pink input jack is the microphone jack on most computers. The jack has 3 contacts on it One is for the microphone, one is ground and the third one is for the voltage applied to the microphone circuits. Easiest way is to get a headphone with a microphone on it . That way you won't get a squeal out of your speakers or an echo when using Skype.

My head phone works very good but the microphone doesn't work

When you say headphones do you mean the music headphones, like speakers, because they go in the headphone jack in the computer while microphones go in the microphone jack. The microphone is normally a pink color and the headphone jack is normally green. If you already knew this try wiggling the microphone to see if there is a brake in the wire, if that dose not make it fissile in and out then its something wrong with the microphone its self and should be replaced

Do toshiba satellites c655 have a built in mic?

The Toshiba Satellite C655 does not have a built in microphone, but it does have a mono microphone jack.
The following website has microphones that are compatible with the microphone jack. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList.aspx?Submit=ENE&N=100007675%20600011221&IsNodeId=1&name=3.5mm
You may verify at Toshiba's C655 website. It says "No Webcam and microphone built into LCD bezel". http://us.toshiba.com/computers/laptops/satellite/C650/C655-S5049
Compared with the L670. It says "Webcam and microphone built into LCD bezel". http://us.toshiba.com/computers/laptops/satellite-pro/L670/L670-EZ1710
I hope this answers your question.
Sincerely, Nathan Hicks

Can i work this mic with my computer?

Yes. You should be able to plug it in it your microphone jack. First, find the mic jack. it should be located right next to the headphone jack. Open your sound dialog. You can find it by right-clicking the volume control and selecting recording devices. Look for your microphone in the dialog. It should have a green tick on it. If it doesn't, select it and click "Set Default". (note: your microphone may not show as a separate entity. if not, select your default microphone and test it by speaking into the MV29. The level should change)somervta.jpg

Where can I plug the microphone in?

Plug your microphone's pin into the red (or pink) jack out of the three jack sockets (blue, green, and red) that you see on the rear of your computer CPU. The newer computers may have these three jacks on the front of the CPU.

Is there a spiecal jack plug for a microphone. stupidly cut old plug off and threw it away without looking at the wiring

You can actually wire it up with any type of connection you need. The most common are a ts (tip sleeve) 3.5mm Jack; a 6.35mm 1/4 inch Jack or an XLR connection.

It just depends on what you're plugging into.

Hope this helps

My shure radio mike has a bass hum

This usually means that the ground wire has broken. Try a new balanced XLR microphone cable and see if the hum goes away. If it doesn't then the problem is either the microphone or the jack that you are plugging the cable into. If you are plugging into a mixer, make sure that the ground pin has not been removed from the power cord. Same thing with the amp that the mixer is plugged into etc. If you think it is the microphone have a look for a small hole on the side of the base of the microphone where the cable plugs into it. Use a small flat bladed screwdriver to tighten that screw in a counterclockwise direction. This will stop the jack in the microphone from wiggling. It also provides a ground for the body of the microphone. If that doesn't help, Try turning it in to remove the jack and examine the wiring. Do this gently. There should be 3 wires on this jack. It is an XLR jack. The wires should be 1= ground, 2= hot and 3= cold. SAme with the plugs on the cable. Hope this helps.

The CM-100L Contact Microphone is a perfect compliment to any tuner that offers an audio input jack. The mic can be positioned to get a more sensitive reading, while allowing the tuner to be positioned for easier reading.
The jack is a 1/4" male phone connector.
