Do you have the proper key ? it should be printed usually on a sticker somewhere on your computer Make sure all keys are typed in correctly with the space between IE: Q8VBM-34FWW-7DFFY- .... this is just an example
the product key should be on a sticker on the side of your computer, if not it should be on a sticker on the cd cover. if you have neither of these you will not be able to install it. if you use one from another computer you will get the message that windows failed validation sooner or later and be forced to purchase new license online.
Legally, well purchase the software. But if you do that I wouldn't buy Xp Home Edition I would go with XP Pro.
On the other end of things check piratebay.com or other torrent sites. You may be able to find just the product key or a version where you do not need one or that comes cracked.
What type of computer do you own? Some computers, like DELL, will have your product key on a sticker on the exterior (laptops may be on the bottom). If you cannot locate your product key on the exterior of your machine, I would recommend calling Microsoft for help getting a new key. Their phone number is 1-800-642-7676 (MICROSOFT).
