E001 error when playing FIFA 11, means that your graphic card is not supported (does not meet the games hardware requirements) in playing the game!! Majority of the onboard graphics card do not support very high graphicsPC games eg FIFA 11. ( Updating your DirectX or Graphics cards drivers will not help.)
In order to play the above PC game you have to get a better graphic card which support at least the "Shader Mode 3".
I started having the same problem. I have 3 macs, not PCs. Have spoken with other Mac users who can no longer access the game rooms on lexulous as of February 28. I went to the Apple store with my computer and they said those TCP ports were already enabled. Their take was that lexulous modified something on their website and did not do a "patch" or something to have it work for Mac users. I have emailed the site administrator but have not received a response, which is unusual.
Sure hope they fix this. Its weird that there is still a fair amount of traffic on their website.
Hi Sorry to hear you are having problems,
MacOS 10.4 has a firewall built into it ( Of course all MacOS X versions have firewalls ) that can have ports opened on it. You say it was working fine yesterday, did you change anything ?
Fastest and easiest way to open ALL TCP/IP ports is to turn off your FireWall for the time you are playing then re-activate it when you're done.
This can be done in the sharing pane of the System preferences, choose firewall and turn it OFF.
You could of course open just the ports 24000-24100 in the same preference pane...
But chances are it might be something else if you did not modify your system since yesterday.
Are you on the same network as yesterday?
Are you able to play on another network ?
Do you use a firewall? If yes, have you tried it while your firewalls are deactivated (on both computers)? If it works with the deactivated firewall, find out whether the firewall prevents the application from using the network (unlikely) or whether it prevents specific ports from being used.
Without any applications running, start a cmd window. Type "netstat -a" (without the quotes). Now start Warcraft and create a new LAN game (server). Start a second cmd window, type "netstat -a". The new server should now be visible as one or more "LISTENING" entries. If not, Warcraft may not be working properly.
You may also have to create you game in a different way from when you create a game for the internet.
If you're behind a firewall or using a proxy server, you may be unable to play Yahoo! Games. Firewalls need to open port 11999. You'll need TCP inbound and outbound access for this port. The games hosts are currently yog1.games.scd.yahoo.com, yog2.games.scd.yahoo.com, ... up to yog70.games.scd.yahoo.com. You'll need to do a ns-lookup on these hosts to find out the IP addresses.
