This sounds like a welded contactor if not the fan should run when the compressor does call for cooling it should go off when tstat is off if not check the contactor behind panel turn off power to unit before removing cover on outside unit will need to use ohm meter or someone who knows how to use one

Why is my Intertherm P681S unit getting hot and the fan is is stopping?

Is the outside running? Is the outside fan running? Probably what is happening the fan outside quits running and the compressor gets hot and goes into thermal overload. need to check to make sure the outside fan is running.

Carrier 38CKC042300. oUTSIDE UNIT FAN WAS TURNING REAL SLOW. ac UNIT IS OFF BUT FAN TO OUTSIDE UNIT IS STILL TURNING. sHOULD NOT BE TURNING AT ALL WITH AC UNIT OFF

The outside fan may run if the unit is in defrost mode this is normal for most heat pumps it is there way of trying to keep the outside unit from staying iced over so the next time the unit runs it will have air flow through the coil and the ice will not be there to prevent air flow.

Kenmore AC compressor on and off while outside unit fan running

If the out door fan keeps running and the compressor cycles off that would be the overload in the compressor.
What keeps the windings cool is the refrigerant back to the compressor.
For the overload to cycle it would have to be either not enough cooling back to the compressor or high amp draw, which could be the metering device (txv or orifice) or low on charge, or other things would be a bad capacitor, sometimes a bad start relay not staying open, when compressor gets up to speed or anything causing the compressor to draw high amps.
To check the refrigerant, he needs to check the superheat at the compressor it should be appoximately 12° to15°, and next time the compressor goes off if you shut the power off and feel the top of the compressor and if it's hot 130° or higher it's probably refrigerant.

71122 ac model starts but the fan does not blow any air .shuts off within seconds.

which fan shuts down? Outside condensor fan? Or blower inside? If its the outside condensor fan motor you probably have a bad run capacitor or a bad condensor fan motor

Central ac blowing hot air outside fan not moving but making a noise

This is nothing but an either or -or ! First, make the thermostat calls for cool, there are suppose to be 2- noise outside, the fan motor and the compressor (and if a old system,a humming noise which is the contactor coil which picks up the main 240-volts).. hurry up and take a stick or something and turn the fan blades, if it picks up speed and run, then its the capicator. If not then the fan motor is bad.! (BOTTOM LINE)!

Inside blower not starting every time

That's a weird problem. I wonder if the outside compressor is drawing down the voltage in the breaker box enuff to keep the blower from starting up. If you're set to cool but the thermostat is NOT calling for the AC, can you manually turn the blower on fathfully? If so, I would check all wiring connections in the breaker box to make sure they are tight and free from tarnish or corrosion. You may even need to contact your power company and have a higher amperage line installed outside. Do your house lights blink noticably when the compressor kicks on?

While you're resolving this, you could start the blower manually and just leave it on. The compressor cycling on/off shouldn't stop the blower once it's running and it won't draw much current... couple bucks a month maybe.

Hope that helps...
