First thing though is to check if your serpentine belt that drives all those pulleys is stretched or worn

and that serpentine belt tensioner as well

in my case, the tensioner was failing at 90,000 miles & i replaced mine
--------------------------------------------------
the tensioner is manually operated for the 2.4L 4cly engine and shares that belt with the alternator pulley

the tensioner of the v6 2.7L engine has that automatic spring-loaded unit

the manually operated one is a lock bolt and you have to adjust the other long bolt until the right tension is achieved; then tighten that lock bolt again for the 4 cyl engine

The first and second guy know what the are talking about . To save expense , get a new belt and bypass the AC unit. You won't have AC but you are still running

This caused by a locked up AC compressor or excessive AC compressor drag due to a defective compressor, this causes the belt squeal due to the excessive load, disconnect the electrical connector to the AC compressor until you can have this repaired or the belt will burn up and come off.

2009 elantra SE, whistling sound this morning after a rainy night when i turned the key to start, it had delay for few sec and long whistling noise then started!

What you heard was probaly the drive belt, if it stopped after a few seconds, take a glss of water and pour on belt while running and see if it does it while pouring the water, this also works to tell if you have a bad belt or idler pulleys, if the squealing goes away its a belt if it keeps squealing its the idler. If its an actual whistle, before it starts, who knows......

I have a loud squealing noise upon starting the car. the squealing normally lasts about 30-45 seconds. sometimes the noise will appear aftrer pulling off from a stopped position, as well. all belts

Try to tighten the belts a little firm.Sounds like when engine idling no squelling only when about to take off .Some times belts may seem ok on the outside but if you look on inner side you tend to see cracks in the belts .

Squealing from the engine when started, but not for long, after driving or reving the engine it stops whats going on

the bearings on the idler pulley need to be oiled when the engine is warm the bearings start to move esier due to the amount of torque they are under if it still squeals after oiling you may need to replace the pulley. if you replace the pulley repace the belt with it, so you won't need to pull it apart for a second time.

you need to check the front brake pads to see if the warning tab is touching the rotor ,this will squeal if the pads get worn out before it goes metal to metal, and if that is ok the only thing i would think of is the wheel bearing,

Stalling And Engine Revving

Sounds like a transmission problem. My car was doing that and it turns out it had a transmission fluid leak that had led to major transmission damage. The bad news: the entire transmission had to be rebuilt.
