There is an error message on my printer that says that there is an interferance with the black ink cartridge communication. This started happening when I changed my empty cartridges for full ones. Sometime the printer prints, and sometimes it doesn't when the message is there. Sometimes the message goes away when I open the printer, but it always comes back when I try to print again.

There could be several reasons why your printer is experiencing an interference with the black ink cartridge communication. Here are a few possible causes:

  1. The black ink cartridge may not be properly seated in the printer. Make sure that the cartridge is fully seated in the correct position and that the contacts on the cartridge are properly aligned with the contacts in the printer.
  2. The black ink cartridge may be defective. If the cartridge is new and you are experiencing this issue, try replacing it with a different cartridge to see if that resolves the problem.
  3. There may be a problem with the printer itself. If you have tried replacing the ink cartridge and the issue persists, there may be a problem with the printer's printhead or other internal components.
  4. There may be a problem with the printer's software or drivers. Make sure that you are using the latest version of the printer's software and drivers, as this can sometimes resolve communication issues.
If you have tried the above steps and the issue persists, it may be necessary to contact the manufacturer of your printer for further assistance. They should be able to provide more specific troubleshooting steps based on the make and model of your printer.

SOURCE: epson sx600fw will not recognize a new ink cartridge (jettec)

use a q-tip with some rubbing alcohol to clean the electrial connections on the ink cartridge and more importantly the printer. after you clean them make sure to use a dry q-tip to wipe off the haze the alcohol will leave. if this does not work you can do a partial reset on the printer.

SOURCE: Printer thinks cartridges empty

Unplug your printer from the computer and then the power supply. Remove the inks from the printer. Plug the printer back into the computer first then connect the power supply. Install the inks "very slowly" one by one and then check the levels, they should now read full. Thank you, Dana

You need to have the color cartridge installed. There is no software way to avoid that.

Cannot remove wrong cartridge message from epson printer

If you have tried turning it off and on again, and the problem is still there, then the printers sensors that detect the cartridge type are not getting the signal they expect from the new cartridge. The electrical contacts are probably dirty with ink. Remove the cartridge and try cleaning all the contacts you can see on it and in the printer where it was.

Our Lexmark Prospect Pro205 has sufficient ink in the black cartridge. The error message says there is interference with the black ink cartridge. Black ink does not print, but color inks print.

Your cartridge may need to cleaned. On the printer operator panel, press Setup button -> Maintenance -> Deep Clean Printhead. Your printer will then print a test page forcing ink through the cartridge nozzles and clean them.
If that doesn't help, your printer probably needs to be updated. The firmware update, available at http://bit.ly/p205fw, will help fix print quality issues.

Getting error, "cartridge error" 50C. Dell All-in-one printer, model A940

Hi there Error 50c
Yes this allways happens.
Regarding the Dell A940 "Error 50c"....the user guide doesn't seem to mention "Error 50c". They do, however, mention a "Cartridge Error" on page 52 of the manual. They claim this means that the printer has detected a short circuit (fuse/resister) in the cartridge. As you may or may not have noticed in the manual, this is what they recommend doing about it:

1) Press Power to turn the printer off.

2) Lift the printer cover/lid (scanner unit) until the scanner support holds it open.

3) Turn the printer on.
The ink cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position unless the printer is busy.

4) Remove the color ink cartridge.

5) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.
If the error message displays again, replace the black cartridge with a new black cartridge.

If the error message does not display, repeat steps 1–3 and then go to step 6.

6) Reinstall the color cartridge and remove the black ink cartridge.

7) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If the error message displays again, replace the color cartridge with a new
color cartridge.
If there is no error message (indicated by flashing lights), repeat steps 1–3 and then reinstall both ink cartridges.
8) Lower the printer (scanner unit) until it is completely closed.

If you get the error message again, while both cartridges are installed, replace both of the cartridges.

Basically, what they want you to determine is,....if the short circuit is with the "black ink" cartridge or the "color ink" cartridge and then replace the cartridge that has the problem.

You may have to buy a new cartrige.
Please all I ask is call back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one, so I will keep on helping.
