Kenmore HE3 washer not draining out of drain hose, instead is draining out of rubber item at top of tub (maybe overflow drain) and leaking water onto floor. Washer won't go out of rinse cycle.

Kenmore elite top load washer will not drain and buzzes until unplugged

Hello there:
It spins, but doesn't pump If your washer spins but doesn't pump the water out, the drain line is probably clogged. In many washers, a small sock or other piece of clothing can get between the clothes tub and the outer tub that holds the water. If the clothing gets between the tubs, it may then get into the drain hose that's attached to the pump--or even into the pump itself. If it's in the pump, you need to remove the hoses from the pump and pull the item out. To remove the sock from the outer tub port, open the washer's main access panel and remove the large-diameter rubber hose that connects the pump to the bottom of the outer tub. Then, using needle-nose pliers, try to grab and remove the clothing through the port. Sometimes you can't remove the stuck clothing from below. Then you have to remove the agitator, top of the outer drum shield, and inner clothes tub. This isn't easy to do--and you may need special tools--so you might be happier getting a qualified appliance repair technician to do the job. If the drain line isn't plugged, the problem may be with your pump. Even if the pump appears to be turning, the internal impeller may be broken. If so, you need to replace the pump.

Kenmore washer will not drain

Your washer does not have a cap on the drain pump. You need to remove the large rubber inlet hose from the front of the drain pump in order to access the pump impeller. This model washer tends collect debris in the large inlet hose area, so check it as well.

NOTE: If you own a wet/dry shop vac it will come in very handy to drain any residual water inside the wash tub. There's about a gallon of water that can remain in the wash tub and drain hose lines (this is normal). If you pull the drain hose from the standpipe at the wall and pull a vacuum on it with a shop vac, this will make clean up much easier. Otherwise, you will need some towels to lay down under the pump before you remove the inlet hose.

For an illustration of what I'm talking about, you can go to searspartsdirect.com and type in your model number. Look under the "Motor/Tub" heading for item 35 (drain pump) and item 41 (Inlet drain hose).

If you have any questions, or require additional assistance, please let me know. I hope this helps you.

Kenmore series 90 wont fill up to large load level

If you have ever experienced the problem where you washer continually fills but never reaches the proper level (not an overflow). Or, the wash tub water level cannot be maintained, because the water level keeps dropping. You may be experiencing what is known as "siphoning". This occurs when there is no air gap for the drain line at the standpipe. The standpipe is the drain pipe at the wall where the washer drain line is placed. With no air gap, a vacuum is created, and water will begin to drain from the wash tub prematurely. To prevent this from occurring, follow this advice:
* The standpipe should be 2 inches in diameter to allow a sufficient air gap between the top of the standpipe and the drain hose.
* The standpipe should be a minimum of 34" from the floor, and should not exceed 72 inches in height.
* DO NOT seal the top of the standpipe. Many consumers seal the standpipe in the belief that this will prevent overflows, or get rid of drain odors. This often creates more problems than solutions.
* DO NOT place the drain hose too far down into the pipe. Water stays in the drain trap area of the standpipe. If the end of the drain hose rests in this area, no air gap is created, and this can also cause siphoning. 4 to 6 inches is sufficient.
* The drain hose length must not exceed 10 feet in length. Excessive drain hose length can cause drain problems and back wash.

Kenmore HE3 F 09 error message.

F09 Overload condition If the Overflow contact on the pressure switch is Closed for more than 60 seconds an Overflow condition will occur. In an Overflow condition, the Door will remain locked, and the Drain Pump will run constantly, even if PAUSE/CANCEL is pressed twice and the Display is cleared. Unplug the unit to service. Potential Causes ? Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked ? Check Wire Harness connections to the Drain Pump, Pressure Switch, and Central Control Unit (CCU) ? Check / Clean Drain Pump Filter of foreign objects ? Check for Drain Pump Failure ? Check the Inlet Valve for proper shut off ? Check the Pressure switch for proper operation Replace failed component.
