Dell Dimension 2350 DVD/CD Rom Drivers

Hi,

My DVD/CD rom does not work on my computer and device manager is telling me that I have the wrong drivers installed. I did a system restore but that did not help.

Thank you in advance for any useful information.

I also rolled back the current drivers and that did not help.

Go to dells website and find the pc driver site ( http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&ServiceTag=&SystemID=DIM_PNT_CEL_2350&os=WW1&osl=en&catid=&impid= )
and scrool down to CD/DVD and click the + to the left of it, then find the model that is your's

If it was custom installed go to the manufactures site (ie samsung, sony, ect.) and got to support and to the driver's section (you might have to select model befor you can) and download the latest driver

My solution would be to do a system restore but to restore your pc to before the problem occured. This helps with certain driver problems sometimes.

My cd rom wil not work it just quit working for no reason it will not play any cds or let me burn anything

First open the "Device Manager" to check for any error messages related to the device and click on "Start" and select "Control Panel" .

Now double-click on the "System" icon then click on the "Hardware" tab and click the "Device Manager" button. A new window appears, and displays whether the device is working properly. If there are any errors, click the "Troubleshoot" button and follow the given onscreen instructions.

Check the DVD that you are trying to use to and ensure that it is free of dirt and scratches and the proper format compatible with your drive.

Now uninstall any drivers that may be on your computer from previous DVD drives.

Now download the latest driver updates for your DVD drive model from Dell website & install it.

Also check on Dell website that your machine has the minimum requirements to operate the drive.

Now restart your computer & check your DVD drive.
I hope issue has been resolved.
