Step 1:
The first thing you want to do is check to see if you can get into the computer the easy way. Try signing on as a guest. If there is no "guest" option try typing in: guest then press enter. If this fails, no need to worry, just move on to the next step. If this step fails then just Hit ctrl + alt + del. Under the username put the word "administrator" and put nothing under password. Most likely this will work, since there is a secret administrators account in every computer. If by any chance this does not work: continue to the next step... If you are on the computer already and need a way to access the computer in the future without knowing the password try this: Go to the start menu, then to "control panel", click on "user accounts"... Make another account with your own password to it! This way you can sign in with your own user name and there's no need in knowing the password. The downside to this though is that the computer often displays all usernames once you sign on. Restart the computer and find out, on some computers it doesn't! This last step is a bit drastic, but you can change the password on the computer given that you are already signed on. You don't have to know the password in order to change it.

My lexmark printer is saying i dont have authorisation to instll?

You may be logged on your computer using a guest account. A guest account can access the computer but has limited rights and permissions (e.g. downloading applications, computer configuration changes, install software or hardware, etc). Please ask your technician or access the Administrator account to successfully install the printer driver. You may also ask the owner of the Administrator account to grant you additional rights and any permission to your guest account so you can make future changes.

Bought a second hand computer.cannot remove the previous owners yahoo.id on signing in.How can i make my yahoo id the default.

Make sure that when you sign in you check the "Keep me signed in" Box located right below where you enter your password. Then go to "Account Info" and go to "Change Sign In Settings". Make sure that you have "2 weeks" selected, as this will keep you signed in for 2 weeks at a time without being automatically signed out.

Rid admin. user&password update comp2run faster

There are two solutions to your problem. First reinstall the operating system thus wiping out the previous user accounts and thus the administrator password.
Check this out for a fresh intall of win XP.

If you would like there is a way to break the administrator's password. You need to crack your administrator password hashes.

(A)Can't login in as admin, guest only, tried safe mode no success (B)Recovery problem:error code 2

Try logging in as administrator in safe mode if you have not tried that already. Some of the newer spyware/malware has been disabling admin accounts and wiping out recovery points. I battled some spyware last week like that.
When you get into safe mode are you only getting in as a guest or are you able to get in as another user?
Let us know how it goes.

Admin password!!??

Emergency Boot CD is a download you can find many places. Burn to CD and then boot off of CD, it has an option to change user passwords, including Administrator.
Here is a link to download
http://www.brothersoft.com/emergency-boot-cd-62611.html
It is FREEWARE meaning you can use all you want and never have to pay.
I actually used the Admin reset functionality. I fix computers for my church, and whoever used the computer last put a admin password on it and then left the church. I was able to reset and get back to a working computer without any problems. Works great.

System won't go past profile page..stuck

It seems that the Guest account profile is corrupted because of which you are unable to log in as like in previously.

In the Profile Login page, hold the Ctrl and Alt keys and press the Del key twice.

This will give you a window where you need to enter the User name and Password.

Enter the User name as administrator and leave the password column blank if you have not set any Password to the administrator account or enter the Administrator password if you have set any.

Now once you are loged into the Administrator account, create a new User from the Control Panel > User Accounts.

Set the required limitatios to the account like limited account or administrator account and log off from the administrator account.

Now, you should have the newly created user account available in the login page. Select it and you should be able to login.
