Question about Projection Televisions

1 Answer

I have an RCA 26 inch LCD TV that I bought on February 25, 2006 (Serial # EA033F483E3174. I was watching the British Open golf tournament and left the room for a few minutes and came back to a blank screen. I then tried the remote...shutting off the TV...and tried to restart it (turn it "on") again. The red light at the lower right goes on for maybe a second then goes out with a click. The same happens if I go to the switch on the TV itself (the power "on/off" switch). Tom in Tucson, AZ email address is: archangelx47@hotmail.com

    It is not a steady blinking light...it just comes ON briefly when I turn it on at the set (power on/off switch) or if I use the remote control. It then goes out and stays out immediately.

    if you have no idea, the tv needs a repair...

    The steady blinking light means there is no specific code. The double-side board (the one lying flat/horizontal just to the right of the vertical power supply board which has the fuses) has a burnt transistor (the one with the sizable heat sink on it, at the back left corner when looking at the board from the rear of the TV). It is blowing the (non-power supply) fuse.

    let me know..

How much is a 1998 26 inch Sharp tv worth?

If it is in good working condtion and looking very clean you may be able to get about $60 to $100 for it. Remember that there are new LCD TV sets that are very low in cost and will out perform your set.
I have seen some 24 inch models on sale for under $250 with a 3 year warranty. And, these sets will work in 16:9, has component inputs, and are packed with features.

In these times, people are trying to get rid of their CRT sets and change for the LCD types.

A 24 inch flat screen TV has about the same viewing as a 25 to 26 inch CRT TV.

No analog stations on my hdtv 37 inch, have no digal box just regular cable, regular cable works on normal tv

Try an antenna if you want to get analog over the air. I have a feeling that with the way the standards are changing, you will only be able to get digital channels. After February, the analog channels won't be around.

If you are using cable tv you need an HDTV box to get high def.

Mintek 26 inch LCD HDTV with built-in-DVD remote not working

The reason you can't pull-up the Mintek website is because the company is out of business. I have one that is frozen on one channel and none of the buttons or remote will work. I took it to a repair shop and the said one of the circuit boards is bad but since the company is out of business they can't get the needed part. The only way to get the part is to find a set which can be cannabalized for the needed parts.
