Epson 76C projector that the picture has no red color to it. I have tried the adjustments as described in the manual but no success. The blue and green is great but no red? Thank you.

Youve probably got something gone wrong with your dlp chip with the million mirrors on it, see when the mirror tilts away from the light you get a black shade- tilted toward light lighter shade now throw the color wheel in which gives you color youve got green and blue so the color wheel is fine. Now how to replace chip? Dont. Look for a digital board or video board replace that and that should take care of ya. Good luck hope this helped ya-

Hi,
Symptom shows Lamp is weak in result and causing restart of TV again and again. Your TV requires new lamp as per following part number...
A1085447A* LAMP BLOCK ASSY XL-2200U
It is available in Sony Accessories Store for $200 and replacement procedure is written in instruction manual of TV.

Always buy Sony original lamp for TV and avoid aftermarket / cheap lamp for TV safety.

Epson Livingstation LS47P1 won't turn on

Hey,

Very similar problem with my LS47P1. Here is the scoop (I work for a retailer which carried these and I bought one)

- Epson has admitted that there is a flaw in the engineering of many newer bulbs (that is ones that were made after the initial release of the LS47P1)
- Apparently the 3 little metal contacts on the lamp tend to get "squashed" down over time once the lamp has been installed (this takes a little while, like 2 weeks to a month after the replacement lamp is installed).
- The contacts no longer make a connection with the inside TV side contacts and the electrical charge needed to ignite the gases in the lamp does not get through (like 9 out of 10 times)
- You can get it to work temporarily by pulling out the lamp and carefully pulling the inside contacts upward to make a better connection inside. NOTE: I did this for a while everytime it didn't work and after a while the pieces of metal became worn and would break off. So do this only if you have an extra lamp handy or you're on your last witts (as I was).

HERE'S WHAT TO DO:
1. Call Epson of America (I am in Canada, but they are the ones to talk to anyway)
2. Tell the first person who answers the phone to transfer you to the Livingstation (rear projection) department. If they start telling you that it will take like 48 hours and they will call you back tell them "NO! put me throught now!"
3. Tell the real tech expert your issue.
4. Get him to send you out a non-defective lamp (these ones have been retrofitted to not get "squashed" in the TV.
5. Put new lamp in and cross your fingers....

Hope this helps.

My too, same problem - tried replacing lamp ($150), no luck, replaced ballast ($200) no luck, replaced power supply ($150) no luck and TSC is telling me to replace the main engine ($600) - way too much for this piece of junk (cost me $4000 in 2005) - don't buy optoma products!!!

No Picture

its probably the ballast that is bad, call Optoma and you can buy a ballast for it, but you will probably want to have a pro do it, changing the ballast is a lot more involved than just changing the bulb, the ballast is what powers the bulb and it does go out on occasion.

Replaced lamp and now can't get a picture

Hi Sally Jo, Unit powers on and works properly for a while then shuts off with a red lamp LED (lamp error). Suspect bad lamp part # 915P020010 2. Lamp enable line at J14 pin 6 does not switch to 5 volts after turn on, 12 and 5 volt supplies are good. Suspect the Light Engine part # 939P977010 3. At power on the lamp turns on and off three times and then the unit shuts down with a red lamp LED (lamp error). Replace the Light Engine part # 939P977010 4. Check for 12-volts DC at J-9 connector pin 4 on the Engine Driver PCB, if missing check for an open F9A09 on the Power PCB, if it is open replace F9A09 part # 283P127060 and the Light Engine part # 939P977010 5. Lamp enable line at connector J14 pin 6 on the Engine Driver PCB switches to 5 volts after turn on but does not go back to 0-volts (low) after 5 seconds, 12 and 5 volt supplies are good. Suspect the Light Engine part # 939P977010 6. Check for 5-volts DC at J-9 connector pin 1 and 2 on the Engine Driver PCB if missing replace the Power PCB part # 934C148001. Hope this helps!
