If you plugged in the network interface on your house and were able to call out static free, then you still have a problem inside either with a jack or wire.If you are real sure your jacks are not corroded, then it could be wiring.Try changing the usually red and green on one jack to another color, then you will have change to the same color on the interface. If this solves your problem change each jack in the house to the new color.

How do I change Voice Mail on my phone?

Dial your extension. Wait for the greeting to say that you are at your voice mailbox. This is also the "Quick Voice Mail Tutorial Set Up."
Follow the instructions provided in the tutorial. You will be asked to enter your name (or company name), password and greeting. Write down the password and keep it in a safe place.
Record other greetings, if needed. After the tutorial, you have an option to add different messages for different situations. Press "311" to change your general greeting. Use "312" to record a message for when the line is busy. Dial "315" to record a temporary greeting for when you are away for an extended period of time, such as vacation. Good Luck

Hi this problem is more common than you think its caused by the power surge you get when the electric is turned back on you also get this problem due to lightning strike their is absolutely nothing you can do to repair the phone as their are no servicable parts and the chances of getting a new board for the base is going to be nigh on impossible

How do I test my phone jacks? I have no dial

There should be a gray box on the exterior of your house called a network interface device(NID). Unscrew the left half (or lower on some) marked customer side. there should be 1 or 2 places that have 2 screw terminals and a small telephone cord that is pluged into a small jack. Unplug the small cord and plug in one of your phones from your house into the jack. If you get dial tone then the problem is either in one of your phones or in the house wiring. If you still dont get dial tone then the line is dead on from the telco side(call the phone company).

Find a small gray box on the outside of your home called a "network interface device". It's likely near your electric meter or somewhere on the rear or side of the house. Open this up with a screwdriver. Find where your line is marked in there. Plug in a simple non-cordless type phone into the rj11 jack inside the interface. If there's still no dial tone call your phone provider and they'll repair the problem for free. Be sure to check it at the interface because the phone company bills for anything past the interface if you don't have a maintenance plan. They put that interface, called a NID, there so you can isolate problems before unnecessarily calling them to dispatch out a technician. If you don't have an interface or can't find it, call the phone company and they'll install one for free.

The NEC phone is probably a business multi-line digital phone, requiring a phone 'back-end' system. Will not work on an analog 'home' phone line.

Activating Call Forwarding

You can activate Call Forwarding whenever you want your calls to be sent to another phone, including a mobile phone. Once activated, all your calls will be sent to the forwarding number you request. Each time a call is forwarded, you will hear one short reminder tone on your home phone, but you will not be able to answer the call from your home number.

1. Lift your telephone's receiver and listen for a dial tone.

2. Press *7 2.
In some areas you must use 72#
Dial 1172 on rotary or pulse-dialing phones.

3. At the tone, dial the telephone number where you want your calls transferred.
You will hear the number you entered ring. When the number is answered, Call Forwarding is activated.

4. If the call is not answered or the line is busy, hang up and call the number again within two minutes.
You will hear two short tones telling you that Call Forwarding is activated.

5. Hang up the receiver.

Deactivating Call Forwarding

Turn Call Forwarding off when you want to receive calls on your home phone.

1. Lift your telephone's receiver and listen for a dial tone.

2. Press * 73.
In some areas you must use 73#
Dial 1173 on rotary or pulse-dialing phones.

3. Listen for two short tones.
Call Forwarding is now off and you will receive your calls at your home number.

Do I need a network?

If that model phone has a rj14 jack ( standard phone jack) and when you plug it into a known good wall jack and you can draw dial tone then it will work. If not it requires a KSU to interface with the lines and that's a lot more equipment than you need for 1 or 2 lines. Thank you. Jer
