Question about RCA F32665 32" TV

3 Answers

NO SOUND The TV was working earlier in the day, and now there is no sound!!! When we turn up the volume, the sound clicks as the volume rises but thats all. We have Direct TV hooked up to the TV. The TV is about 8-9 years old and this is the first problem we've had with it. I was watching tv when the sound went off. You can hear a clicking sound when you turn volume up and down. I am cable connected, and also have dvd. I still have sound when I play my dvd, but no sound when just the tv is on. The tv is not muted. The speakers are on, because I checked the audio output and speakers control panel in the audio menu. This is the first problem I've had with it.

I had the same problem, just started today, only on one receiver - the others are fine. Plugging and unplugging didn't work, reset didn't work. Is this a Direct TV problem then? Kind of odd I'm not the only one whose sound just quit TODAY!

My 32 RCA was on and a watching a program on Direct tv and I could hear a click sound and the sound went off and just made a clicking sounding with trying to change volume. Well after reading suggestions here to correct the problem I turned power off to the tv a few minutes and now I have volume. Thanks alot to persons who gave that advice but why do you think this happened.

I have a Quasar TV that has worked perfectly fine until the other day. Picture is fine, but no sound. The speaker volume is on.

Check all your channels. If you are getting sound on some channels but not others it is a good possibility that your SAP setting is turned on. Simply go into your audio menu and disable the SAP. Not sure about your model tv but some Tv sets had a switch on the back to disable the speakers and some have a setting in the menu to disable the speakers. If you have a digital cable box hooked to the tv it is possible the cable box volume is turned all the way down which will override your tv volume. Check these options and hopefully one of them works for you.

Tv + converter box = no sound

Try these steps: Turn the volume on your converter box all the way down. Turn the volume on your TV up to ½ way. Now turn up the volume on your converter box until it is at a comfortable level. More information at

No Sound

Check to make sure that the sound option in the TV is not turned off. I am assuming you want to have sound out through the TV set.

Other than that, there may be a failure in the sound processor or anywhere along the sound path in the TV set. This is not something you would be able to service at home yourself.

Hi the volume is just a big fuzzy sound. You can listen to anything. Mute button does work and volume adjustment does work. No Sound at all other than fuzzy sound.
