Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

I had to reinstall windows xp home edition on my dads pc after a virus completly disabled his system. I am now having problems connecting to the internet. It's a Dell pc with ntl broadband (usb through the set top box). I keep getting the error message vtruck dbg has encountered a problem and needs to close, every time I put the broadband intall cd in, so can't set up a connection. Also when I ran a diagnostics test, the network adapter and DHCP Server both failed on the test. What do I do now?

Thanks so much, I can get an internet connection now and everything seems to be working, apart from the shift keys on the keyboard. I was trying to set up the email account but when I come to type @ on my dads keyboard it just types ' . But everything else seems to be working fine. Thanks.

    Any ideas about the keyboard?

System is becoming slow

Open your control panel. Select the performance and maintenance option. 1st run a disk cleanup, after that has finished run the system defragmenter. Once these have completed reboot. Hopefully your problem has been corrected. Hope this helps & please take a moment to rate this solution. Thanks.

Help me..whats going on with windows xp home edition

When installing a new operating system, all file saved will be deleted. Since you've lost all data, you might as well format the entire drive, and then reinstall the vista inspirat thing. Then, download an Avast! anti virus form avast.com. Download the home version, which is free and scan the computer for any viruses. Delete every last one of the suckers.

Registry disable

Need more information, on the problem.

If your computer is still booting then your registry would still be working. So when you say its disabled, how do you come to that conclusion?

Are you just trying to use regedit? If so i can provide a download. If not just need to know  what message or  program is  giving problems.
