Question about Lexmark X5150 All-In-One InkJet Printer

Color printing Up until recently my printer has worked fine. Here's the current situation. I cannot print in color, and when I try to print on the Quick setting for black and white, I get extremely pale, almost invisible, printing that is illegible.I have a new color cartridge. I cleaned the outside of the cartridge with an alcohol swab. Color comes off onto the alcohol swab but it still won't print. The ink indicator shows full color ink and adequate black ink. I also cleaned some along the track inside the machine and got lots of color and black ink off of there, but still no luck with printing color. Could the inkjet be clogged?

Yes, it could be clogged and require cleaning. I would also try wiping off the metal contacts between the cartridges and the printer. Try also uninstalling and reinstalling it and totally disconnecting it if multiple cleaning attempts fail. Let me know what the situation is after doing all of this

Do not use alcohol on the cartridge nozzles.
Glean separately the head in the cartridge rail side , if alcohol get in contact with ink on top of cartridge head it can damage heads and cartridge.

My HP 3525 dn printer printed fine until recently. Now it will only print word, excel, and other program documents...excluding pdf. It did print them until today. Any ideas? Thank, Gunnar

Could be that your printer driver got corrupted.
Go out to www.hp.com/#support.
Enter your printer type and operating system and select the driver you want and download it.

Black and white not printing correctly, color is fine

If you are not using Epson ink, your printer will do this. Epson printers hate knock-off ink. Always use Epson ink if you want to keep your printer working properly. To solve the problem you are having, try cleaning the ink tubes. Make sure you re-install them properly. Hope this helps. Charlene

Kodak 5100 will not print consistently

I am currently having the same problem with a 17" iMac Intel Core Duo.  The printer worked fine for a few months, now it will only print in black and white and sometimes in color that is extremely faded.  I have tried every troubleshooting tip in the book and still no luck.

Slow Printing

Hi, The slow printing issue can occure even if the cartridges are out or low in ink try to check the print function by the stand alone unit by printing a self test page Here are the steps to print a self test page: On the front panel of the product, press Menu (or Setup) . Press the Right Arrow until Print Reports displays, and then press Enter, Start, or OK . Press the Right Arrow until Self-Test Report displays, and then press Enter, Start, or OK . If the self test page takes less time to print and if all the color blocks and black block print fine the ink level are fine. if the time for self test is also more try to clean the cartridge contacts and replace the cartridges if needed this will fix the issue. If the printer works fine as stand alone self test and copy try to performe the steps in the below webpage: ========== http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?docname=c00093466&lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=2512010&rule=10185&lang=en ========== If the issue is still un fixed try to set the print directly settings in the printer properties Click on start >> control panel >> printer and faxes >> there look for the HP printer icon with the check mark and right click on it and select properties and then click on advance tab and under it select the print directly to printer and click on apply and ok to save the settings. Once done try to print and check with the issue. Hope this will fix the issue. Regards, Barret.
