Question about Vizio L32 32 in. LCD HDTV

SCREECHING AUDIO TWO DAYS OUT OF WARRANTY (IKNOW IT'S A COINCIDENCE) OUR TV MODEL #HDTV10A STARTED AN INTERMITTENT SCREECH/HISS SO LOUD IT SCARED THE B'JESUS OUT OF MY WIFE. I CALLED VIZIO AND THEY WANT $299.00 PARTS AND LABOR TO FIX THE PROBLEM. HOW CAN THEY KNOW IN ADVANCE HOW MUCH? ALSO: WE PAID $599.00 FOR THE TV SO IS IT REALISTIC TO BELIEVE THAT A REPAIR DIAGNOSED OVER THE PHONE WILL COST 1/2 AS MUCH AS I PAID FOR THE TV? ARE LOCAL REPAIR SHOPS ABLE TO REPAIR? ANY ADVICE WILL BE APPRECIATED. I'M IN THE OIO6O ZIP CODE.

    I have the same problem with my 42" ive been thinking about contacting them about it. At first is was only on the coax input but now it does it on all inputs. It can be really loud and scare the **** out of you or very quiet and you can just barely hear it and no other sound. its definitely interesting.



    Is there a separate board just for the sound? or is it all integrated into the main board?

My Vizio (don't know model # off hand, 32" bought at WalMart in Jan), is doing the same thing. It did it once the day I set it up; thinking it was just a glitch or something about my lack of knowledge with HDTVs, I powered it off (the hard way, yanking the power cord, as it won't turn off any other way) and restarted it, everything seemed OK. It did it again around April, same thing, just a glitch I figured. I changed some cables, attached more devices, and it has been doing it about twice a week now.

Sometimes it is the full video lockup, with vertical green lines, and full blast audio screech. A couple times it has only partially locked up the video (green vert lines, but still some movement), and no audio screech. Did it last night most recently, hence my google search.

Anyway, my point is, this is probably more common than we were both thinking, and they know just from your description what the problem is. I would try to have them repair such a known-issue free of charge, even out of warranty.

    appending my previous remarks, issue seems to happen when using the component RCA-type inputs (yellow-white-red). Since moving to using other inputs, HDMI (which fried due to lightning) and now Composite (Blue,Green,Red,+audio), the issue never reoccurred. TV still running great for over 7 years.

Loud screeching sound tv


You are doing a process of elimination without knowing the source of the problem. There are two problems here, one is the Audio and second the Video controller. All devices rely on the Power source and Control Center. By the time you keep doing a replacement, you could have had a new TV. Unless you are a technician, Don't waste you time and money.

That problem is usually cause of faulty capacitors on the power supply board..

Just follow this instruction to fix your TV..

1. Open the back cover of your TV.
2. Look at the power supply board..Its normally connected to the power cord..
3. After that,,try to look at the actual image of capacitors if it is bulged on the top so that you can easily determine the bad capacitors..
4. After that,,try to replaced the bad capacitors using soldering iron and soldering lead..replaced the capacitors only with the same type ratings and value..
5. Some of the capacitors not bulged so its better if have a capacitance meter

I have my computer monitior hooked up to my polaroid flat screen tv. Worked fine for a while, then got a blue screen that says "not support". It has also been making a loud screech and a crackaling noise....


The 'NOT SUPPORT' message is due to the video signal resolution form your PC is too high for the TV to display, you need to set your PC video resolution to the native resolution of this TV.
Loud screeching sound may be causing by failing amplifiers if it comes through the speaker or may be from the power supply module due to bad/dying DC filter caps.

your audio amplifier ic might need a replacement..it is damage...it is located were your speaker is connected.

New Vizio tv shuts off after June switchover


Well, your TV is no doubt under warranty. The only reason I can thing of why they want you to use a DVD player is to find out if the Digital Tuner inside the TV is the source of the problem.
They need to replace the Digital tuner board or the main mother board. Either way, they have to come out to your house to replace a part.
Just keep hammering them of the warranty coverage.

VP322-HDTV10A POWER PROBLEM


Definitely a circuit board failure somewhere in the TV. Most likely a power supply related problem. Since you only had the TV for six months, it should be under warranty. Opening up the TV and playing around with it would void the warranty. And it may get expensive.
