Using the remote control has no effect.
Turning off at the mains has no effect.

I left the box and went for a walk!!!

About four hours after having freezed an error 09 message came up on the set top display and then everything returned to normal, after an on TV screen message that update had been successful.!?!

No difference in in any operation of the freeview box.

Note to self and other users
DO NOT PRESS OK WHEN ASKED TO UPDATE SET TOP BOX.

Updating the channel tuning does seem to work ok, though I have to vary between where channel 4 can be found - or learn welsh!

You will get an er 09 on the display.
Press OK on the remote.
With a bit of luck the box will reboot into standby.
Connect antenna and see how you get on.

After accepting a download of software on 09/11/09 my SAGEM HDD type DVR 6200T is just sitting with a blank screen on the TV and P603 flashing on the display. Hopw can I reset the system?

Although the Sagem PVR 6200 and 6200t are not specifically listed as models which have been known to have problems with the recent Freeview retune they are very closely related to the 6280/6240 models which are known to have issues and share most of the same firmware and software.

See the address below for a chart of affected models although it's proven not to be a comprehensive list, you'll need to contact Sagem directly on 0845 0900 316 to find out how to resolve this issue..

Sorry I can't provide you with a definite solution but it's very likely that your model is one of those which only Sagem can sort out.

How do I reset my sagem freeview

If I'm correct, then your box has frozen since a recent retune and is possibly (but not necessarily) displaying error codes 07 and 09. if this is the case then there is nothing you can do by way of a reset to remedy the fault.

If so, a number of Sagem models have shown incompatibilities with the recent Freeview retune, and your model (PVR 6280) is specifically listed as one ofthose affected (seehttp://news.bbc.co.uk/1/shared/bsp/hi/pdfs/01_10_09_freeview2.pdf ). Sagem are not the only ones, better known brands had problems as well.

The official advice is to contact Sagem directly on 0845 0900 316 to find out if they've scheduled an OAD (over air update).

If I'm wrong in my initial assumption and all you wish to perform is a straight system reset for any other reason then all you do is to switch the box on and then unplug it from the mains and from the aerial, leave it for five minutes to allow internal capacitors to discharge, and then refit the aerial plug and reconnect the mains power to it.

I hope that you've foundmy posting to be of use and ask only that you return the favour byrating my answer.

I need code for sagem free view box to retune it!!

I think that you must be referring to the security PIN code for your box as no code is needed for the update itself. Sagem use a default PIN code of 1234 and a few use 1111. If these don't work then search for others but ultimately there is a jumper switch inside the unit on the main circuit board which can be used to clear the PIN code. Note that if you do this on a DIY basis then you should ensure the unit is physically disconnected from the power supply and that you use an anti static mat or wrist strap to prevent damage. If you get a professional to do this expect to pay at least £30 - £40; this is around half the cost of the box when it was new and it will not still allow you to successfully update.

The Sagem PVR 6280 is specifically listed as a box which will have updating problems, so DO NOT update it yet if you wish to avoid loss of functionality. The official advice is to phone Sagem directly on 0845 0900 316 to see if they have a fix yet, but as thousands of their boxes are affected the phone line is very busy this week.

Please see the address below for the official list of affected Freeview boxes:-

Need to reset my receiver

Your question is listed under Sagem PVR6280 so I'll assume that's whatyou have. What follows also applies to the 6240, 6200 and 6200t.

Thereis another default code of 1111, if this does not work then there is ajumper switch inside the box on the main circuit board which will clearwhatever code has been previously set back to the default code. Note that later revisions to these units do not have the reset switch and can only have a manufacturer firmware flash: getting this done may cost more than the box is worth as it has to go back to Sagem.

Openthe box at your own risk and ensure that you physically disconnect thebox from the mains and use an anti-static mat or an anti-static wriststrap. From memory, I think that when the jumper has been altered thebox needs to be briefly re-powered and then turned off to allow thejumper to be reset back as it was.

If your box is a Sagem6240/6260 then DO NOT update it yet as these models are known to beincompatible with the update and will lose some functionalityafterwards. The official advice is to contact Sagem directly on 08450900 316 to see if they have a fix yet, but the number is clearly goingto be ridiculously busy this week at least as thousands of their boxesare affected.

Trouble switching on my Sagem 6200T PVR.

Hi margaretanne on Dec 02, 2008

I have a similar problem with mine. I find the battteries are loose, I remove the back of the remote, jiggle the batteries and press the button, and it works, until I drop the remote and the batteries loosen again.
