Minimize the game, even if it freezes, and click cancel on the error box\s that say they can't load whatever file. It will more then likely work then for whatever reason. It's what I do on Windows 7 64 bit to make it work.
Did the game come with more than once disc? You may have tried inserting the wrong disc. If that isn't the case, you may need to download a crack for the game. Go to this link:http://m0004.gamecopyworld.com/games/pc_sw_empire_at_war.shtml And download the file that says "Empire at War: Forces of Corruption [MULTI] No-CD/Fixed Image" Replace the .exe file in your game directory (normally C://Program Files/"game") with the one that the crack included. Hopefully your game will run now!

If it doesn't recognise it there probably is a scratch or something like that on it, or you have disk emulator softwarelike Daemon Tools running, which causes games to block. Try closing the emulator software. If you don't have any running, you could try using a crack for the game.
A crack is a copy of the game launcher that does not look for the CD when it starts. GO to one of tese sites:

and download a "fixed exe" for your version of the game. It is advisable to update your game to the latest version, and then download the late version crack.
To open the file the crack is in, you will need a program called 7zip. jJust google it and download it, it's free and perfectly safe.
Once you have the crack, overwrite the file of the same name in your Sims folder, and the game should run properly from now.
I hope this helps,
Yannick.
That message means you have to insert the DVD into your DVD player. If you've already done that, the game isn't detecting it, and you will either have to buy a new DVD player, or use a crack. Cracks disable the DVD check in the game executables, thus rendering you able to play without a DVD in your PC.Go to one of these sites:gf.wiretarget.comwww.gamecopyworld.comand download the "fixed .exe" that corresponds with your version of the game.Backup the original .exe you are going to overwrite, you might need it later. When using cracks, it is generally advisable to first update the game to the latest version, and then downloading and using a crack.I hope this helps,Yannick.
