Can not scan

When this happen it is usually the USB cable. When this happen it is usually a problem with the USB cable. If
communication on USB cable is bad, as a result you can print but not
scan.Having also messed up a bit with the drivers ("HP digital
monitoring icon anymore"), you may also need to reinstall the driver.
My suggestion on how to proceed is the following.
Buy a better usb cable, the shilded ones cost a couple of dollars more but guarantee better communication.
Unplug printer from usb.
Unplug computer and printer from power for two minutes.
Plug back computer and printer to power, DO NOT plug in USB cable yet, leave printer NOT connected to pc.
Reinstall
drivers and software, keep printer disconnected until connection is
explicitely required by printer software installation process, or after
installing.
Connect printer when required.
Check that there is no
electric device (power adapters, extension etc.) very near to printer
USB cable, they can cause electromagnetic disturbance.
Try scanning. If it does not work at thhis point is either a problem with windows (new windows install required) or a faulty scanner.

Using win-xp how to manualy uninstall program and correct the registry

Your image mentions an HP device. If you are trying to remove Hp Drivers, you MAY want to insert the CD that came with the printer and choose the Uninstall option. If there is no such option, then consider following these steps:

Hi Swreardon,

How are you doing?
The issue which you have posted will generally occur if there is a WinTools Easy Installer program on your computer or even it occurs due to corrupted registry.

I can provide you the complete solution but for your clear understanding of the solution and to have a clear view of the solution so that you can easily perform the troubleshooting let me provide you with the weblink which ahs clear instructions:

Here are the multiple steps to open run window in vista:
1. Press Windows Key + R to open the Run command window.
