Yeah, for not saying it's wireless or specifying the model right, you get to blame yourself, and should probably treat yourself hatefully by ordering a reuben for lunch.

Did you do the normal reassociation thing between your keyboard and the USB dongle yet, or get any feedback from the device driver installed for it?  Because if you didn't, you get to order a whole kosher dill to eat too, ******.

If it's USB, did unplugging and replugging it work? Is it the port? Is anything spilled in the keyboard that would affect it? How about the drivers or whatever; is it just the OS that dropped it, or is it solved on reboot?

I had failures; mostly from spills, one from seriously crunching the keyboard membrane.

Hp touchsmart 300

From the User Guide at... http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/manualCategory?cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&product=4174137&

The wireless keyboard and mouse are pre-synchronized, for your convenience, to work with your

HP TouchSmart PC. The keyboard and mouse should work immediately after you pull the battery tabs to

activate the preinstalled batteries, and then turn on the mouse (A).

You may need to manually synchronize the wireless keyboard or mouse if they are not functioning.

To synchronize them:

Make sure the keyboard and mouse are next to the HP TouchSmart PC, within 30 cm (1 foot) and

away from interference from other devices.

Keyboard: Press the Connect button on the bottom of the keyboard (B) for five seconds. The blue

activity LED on the wireless receiver illuminates when the synchronization command has been received

and turns off when synchronization is complete.

Mouse: Press the Connect button on the bottom of the mouse (C) for five seconds. The blue activity

LED on the wireless receiver illuminates when the synchronization command has been received and

turns off when synchronization is complete.

If this does not work, remove and then re-insert the wireless keyboard and mouse receiver from the back of
the computer and then synchronize the keyboard and mouse again.

My pc has stopped responding to keyboard and mouse

keyboard and mouse sockets supply 5 volts to the items to function, on the mother board there is a fuse, located close to the sockets, replace this fuse and obtain a new mouse and keyboard, there is a short in one of them and it will blow the fuse again, note it dos not look like a normal fuse, it will be surface mounted F! may be printed beside it, good luck

Try taking the batteries out of the mouse and let the receiver find the keyboard first, then once the keyboard is found put batteries back in mouse and let the receiver find the mouse.

Disconnect external peripherials except keyboard and mouse .Disconnect the power cable.Hold the power button for 10 seconds to drain flea power.Reconnect the power cable and turn on the computer When the blue DELL™ logo appears, press immediately. Keyboard intermittent

There might be a problem with the keyboards PS2 port. You can bypass the PS2 port all together by buying a PS2 Y-adapter to usb port. This Y adapter will allow you to plug your PS2 mouse & keyboard into it and than you plug the other end into a free usb port. You do not have to plug the PS2 mouse in if you do not want to. Just plug in the keyboard. If your keyboard functions than there is a prolem with the keyboard's PS2 port. The PS2 Y-adapter to USB runs about $12.00 to $15.00. You can find one at Wallmart.
