Monitor red colour problem

Hi Benimur,I followed your instructions and opened the smaal unit, waskinda hard, first time huh :D anyway,my monitor is Samsung 753 dfx andthere is only a big transistor attached to the alu sink that has 7-8 foots...I think instead of 3 different trans they hava one big chip trans...
another thing is that I realized that the first glass noticed when you remove the card was half broken, but the monitor works fine, only no red colour?is it possible that the card and trans is fine and the broken glass at the and of the tube makse the red dissappear?

i am assuming that the glass you are referring to is the glass capsule of a neon lamp. They are normally installed to serve as high voltage flash suppressor, a safety feature. Not unless it is shorted, then the unit would still work.

It is no uncommon for the power pack IC to simply have cold solder. Re-applying a heated soldering iron with a dab of soldering lead might just do the trick. Another possibility to consider is that the cable might be defective (specifically the wire for the red).

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

Hey. the problem with my monitor is that the top right and left corners of my monitor d colour has been changed to red even if open a new window is opened is maximized its size the same...

The most probable cause for this is some magnetic field present near these areas, which cause the monitor's mask getting magnetized. I would guess that you have speakers on the monitor's sides, right? You need magnetically shielded (good quality "computer" type) speakers, or else move the existing ones away from the monitor.
The DEGAUSS option from your monitor's controls is used to de-magnetize the mask. You are sure to find it in the monitor menu. Or if you can't find it, simply switch the monitor on and off a couple of times (off, 10 seconds wait, on, 30 seconds wait, and so on) - degaussing is (should be) performed upon every power up cycle.

Turned it on a minute later went black

Good day sir/ma'am hi, if you monitor turns black, here are the more common probable reasons;
  1. Your PC went to standby the screen saver kicks in, just reset your PC then the monitor will power on again.
  2. If not, your PC is not giving you video signal, check to see if another monitor will work, we then know what part is bad, the monitor or the PC.
  3. If the monitor is the culprit, then your monitor's back light or inverter board just went bad. you need to replace it.
There are usually two main circuit board on your monitor, the power supply board and the main board, at this point, you need a professional to do the work.
The process is opening the monitor and locate the LCD screen connection to the main board, to check if the contact is snug. we then test. if still nothing happens, Then we go to the power supply board, to check for connection problem, It would help if there are light signs, like blinking, orange, red, green and the likes? Anyway, if the power supply board is not the faulty one, we substitute the main board with a good one and test to see if it will work, test again. If still no respond, we test a new LCD unit, then test, at this point the monitor is working already, if not, we then replace the power supply board. Huh, very expensive, we already have a new monitor. Reminders, these are to be done by a trained personnel. If you attempt to service this, its expensive, so I suggest you let the service shop do this for you to replace only the faulty part.

Elonex webbook displays anything black as red

You could have a faulty inverter or a CCFL lamp, To determine if you have a LCD screen, inverter or video card problem, read this and follow these instructions.
Defective CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom: Screen flashs on red/pink and off. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal. Picture flickering with dim display or appear black. Picture flickering on and off. All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp (CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is replacing the CCFL lamp.
Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power the monitor up first then the laptop, if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is OK and the problem is definitely the backlight. Dim image and/or dark display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.

Hi Ginger, The Magnet in the speaker has affected the Electrons beams inside the TV.All uou gotta do is remove the speaker - move it to around 3-5 feet away. Use the TV normally. Most Colour TVs have an in built de-gaussing unit inside them, which will clear any remnanrmagnestism. Will resolve itself over 2-3 days. Alternately, go to a Electronic Tools store, and buy a Portable Degaussing unit. Follow instructions and use. Problem will be solved in minutes.

The Red Colour Loss On My Samsung SyncMaster 753 DFX

My Dear Friends,

I Understood the problem.

I will explain it a little briefly.

There is an Integrated Chip (IC) inside the monitor which gave RED, GREEN and BLUE ( Primary Colours) to the CATHODE RAY TUBE (CRT) otherwise called monitor screen.

Due to long run, the IC might be cold soldered and one or two of the colours will not be supplied by the IC to CRT. so the CRT (monitor) will fail to display and mix the primary colours to get othe orginal colour.

The SOLUTION is to replace the IC with a new IC. As this requires a little bit expertise, please get help from the monitor service technician and ask him to replace IC with a new one. This can be done in home, so that you don't have to take the monitor to shop or service center.

All the things you have to tell the technician is to come with a stand-by ICs (NEW) for the MONITOR MODEL, in this case "SYNCMASTER 753S".

It cost around Indian Rupees 300/- for the cost of IC and another 200 Rupees for the service charge of technician.

I hope you solve this issue, if not write to me at with all details.

Spice Prince
