Mr Pronto wheelchair is at least 10 years old, for it was owned by my late father. The batteries were not charging, so my mother and I got new batteris and tried to change the but to no avail. The man at the battery store sold my mother batteries that have the connecting probes on the top. We attached the batteries, and we think they were inserted right, however we cannot fine the place where attach the battery cables to the chair itself. We need a diagram of the way to attach the batteries, please.

Nurseboy16 goto to Invacare.com and on the homepage select wheelchairs and topend then select powerchairs then select Pronto series then select nonpowered seating scroll down until you find M91 then on the left side of the page you will see owners manual select that and look on pages 62-63 on how to connect the wirng. You should have wiring crisscrossing each battery black on neg post red on positive post on opposite batteries and the large connector will connect to the large connector going to the controller or power module hope this helps

My power chair sat for 5 years after having been used for only a couple of years. Now the batteries will not charge at all. Where can I find new batteries for it?

You will need two U1 category batteries for this wheelchair.

Tips for charging new batteries in Jazzy Select Traveller

Check the charger output to verify whether or not you have a bad charger using a voltmeter. These smaller batteries are notorious for having a short shelf life and poor quality control from the manufacturer. Load test the batteries after you verify you have a working charger that will bring the batteries up to the proper voltage first.

You have gel cells cells in your machine? Is it more than two years old?

It sounds to me like your batteries are kaput. Verify this if you can by taking one or both to a old-fashioned auto parts place.

I hope this helps you ...
