Try this, while booting up your computer, continue to tap F8. You SHOULD get a screen with a list of options. From there choose Start in Safe Mode. Uninstall your updates, and then reboot the computer. Hopefully this resolves your issue and you will be able to restart windows normally. Microsoft unfortunately is notorious for coming up with driver updates for components which get installed with autoupdate, several times this will cause a component to stop working correctly, and cause hang up.
