No, the brushes are part of the motor and pinion, Dewalt part number 607990-03. If you search "dewalt 607990-03" you can find several on-line vendors that sell the motor. They run about $50 plus shipping.

My Dewalt DW056 doesn't run variable speed. It's either full speed or not at all. Can this be fixed?

It can be fixed, you just need a new switch. I can not find a Dewalt model number DW056 so I'm not sure what switch you need. The DW053 and DW055 use the same switch, part number N034934. A DW057 uses either part number 152274-15 or 152274-23 which is a variable speed switch. Make sure which model you have and which switch you need, Dewalt switches are expensive, most are $50 and up, and it's hard to return electronic parts to most parts distributors.

My impact driver is not this model its a dc827 but it quit hammering it just free wheels if you just slightly pull the trigger is kinda works is there anything i can do to fix this prolbem?

The pinion on front of motor is slipping on motor shaft. It seems to be just a press fit. Seems like a flaw in design. I had same problem. I took my dw056 apart and took pinion off motor and pressed groves into motor shaft with side cutter pliers. then pounded pinion back onto motor shaft. We will see how long this lasts the motor shaft is a softer metal. I feel the motor shaft should be hardened steel like the pinion and have a shear pin or some sort of spline to attach to pinion. Would like Dewalt to offer fix for this as I only used dw056 a couple of times before I had problem.

Gear slipping in dewalt dw056

Those gears are only held on the motor with their tight fit, if yours is slipping that easily the motor will have to be replaced. The new motor will have that gear on it.
