    Good day, justindorval;

    A black line down the middle of screen and it won't go away? Well, I'm sorry I will have to ask you some questions to understand this:

    1. Is the line in the center of screen?

    2. Is the line off to one side?

    3. Is the line wavy?

There is a solid black line down the center of my tv. It goes away sometimes and comes back then , it flickers with some colours and stays solid. It doesnt matter what setting whether video or cable or dvd.

mine did this I was told to pull out he plug and let it sit for about 20 minutes then plug it in. Hold the power button in for about 12 seconds to reset the television. worked good. oh keep your television away from AC s open windows. moisture can kill any electronics with just a few minutes of damp air.

Black line down the center denotes a COF fault. It is best to contact any service technician. For more information, check the link http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/. This type of fault can't be repaired by the user.

I cant get rid of black line down the center of my 42inch superscan tv

If the line is there whatever input are you using then those pixel lines are disconnected: if you're lucky it will be the connections to the panel (dismantle the tv and reseat all connectors), if not it will be in the panel itself - nothing you can do, the tv is gone.

Samsung 42" Plasma -Black vertical line when turned on.

It sounds like an Intergrated Circuit (IC) has fried. Even on a good day, this is not something you can attack at home. As a tech (and as an owner of that model samsung), I'd need a map & tools to know what's going on. Your best bet in this situation is to contact Samsung and let them recommend an authorized service center in your area. Sorry I can't be of more help, but this is a rather serious problem.

Black Lines in picture

You may have a bad cable, bad connection, interference or all of the above. Try wiggling the cable and see if that helps. You could also move any other electronics away from the cable (if possible) and/or change out the cable (cable tv/antenna cable) and see if that clears it up. However, if the line does not appear to have any information in it as though it was just missing then your problem is a hardware issue that will require a trip to tv repair shop.

Black Line down center of screen

Had the same problem.  Was quoted $800 to fix.  Searched the internet for 6 months and found this thread on avforums.com

http://www.avforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=462873&highlight=black+line+on+plasma&page=4

Read through all the posts.  Very simple fix, but you have to have some mechanical inclinations or you can cause more problems than you started with.  I was up to 5 of the black lines, but decided to attempt the soldering these guys did and fixed it all for the cost of a soldering iron!

RCA 52inch TV

If the screen control for the green picture tube is set too high, then the colors will be greenish, there will be green where there should be black and there will be fine curved lines (retrace lines) in the picture. If you feel confident then you can open the set and look for the focus block which has the 3 focus and 3 screen controls. One row is labeled Screen and the green control will be the center one. Try turning that control down a little and see is the green background and curved lines go away. If they do not go away then there is something more serious wrong. If you do not have experience working on projection sets then allow a qualified tech to handle it for you.
