Will not calculate route

When I enter a route into my system, it gets as far as "Calculating route", and then freezes and goes back to the Main screen.
It was an extremely hot and had been in my car with the windows up all day. I was worried that the heat may have affected my system. Could this be true? It was working fine just the day before.

There is a reset button on the side that you will need to press using a pen or pencil. It will allow the computer to reaccess the satellite.

Want to know how to put way point in my etres gamain gps

Adding a Waypoint is not to difficult. You would first of all choose Where To? on the main menu, and then input your main destination. Once the GPS unit has finished calculating your route and ask you to follow the given route, you would then go back to the Main Menu screen and choose Where To? again. You would then input the Waypoint using Favorites, or whichever method you prefer to use. Once the GPS has accepted the destination, and it displays the screen with the large GO button, you would press GO. The next screen should ask you if you want to add this location a a New Destination, or to Add as a Via Point. You would then choose Via Point.

You're not calculating the square of a negative number, you're calculating the negative of a square. You need to use parenthesis to indicate the square of a negative number.

You're calculating -(3^2), not (-3)^2.

To calculate the latter: ( (-) 3 ) x^2 =

I keep getting the wrong answers on my trig with the TI-84 when doing radians and angles. I put in sin( 3.06/5.17) and got .010 when the answer is 36.29 help.

Hi,
Your result is clearly incorrect in view of the fact that the sine function ranges from -1 to 1. So it cannot be 36.29. For a moment I thought that maybe you wanted to calculate the arcsine but the results are not even close.
Here is a screen capture that shows you the correct results. You can see that I was right in assuming you were calculating the arcsine but not in radians. You are calculating it in degrees.
8da9901.jpg

On the second line I calculated the arcsine of 3.06/5.17. Look at the top of the screen and you will see RAD. Thus the arcsine is in Radians. I multiplied it by 180/pi to convert the result to degrees, which apparently is what you want to obtain.
Here is what I suggest to you. Press [MODE]. Use the arrow to scroll to the third line, highlight Degree and press [ENTER]. Press [2nd][QUIT] to go to main calculator screen.

If your angles are in degrees, you should be working with degree as the angle unit, especially if you are calculating the inverse trigonometric functions.

Hope it helps.
Thank you for using FixYa.

I was having the same issue

Hello,

Use the link below to install TIConnect software
http://education.ti.com/educationportal/sites/US/productDetail/us_ti_connect.html You can also download the latest OS there.

Install TI connect on your computer and run it to open the main Window. Then connect you calculator to a USB port and, in the TIConnect main window Click the TIConnect TIDeviceInfo. It will try retrieve the info.
If it does your calculator is fine.

If it tells you Device Not found , Click communication settings in same pop up window where it said Not found, and Select Device, Select Cable, Select Port and try OK..

If you are lucky and it works, you should reinstall the OS, which can be downloaded from education.ti.com. You drag and drop the OS on the TIconnect main window. Calculator must of couse be connected to computer.

If you have problem with TIconnect, use the calc-to-calc cable to transfer the OS of a working calculator. Yous should be on Receive mode [2nd][Link] --->>Receive. (When both calculators are ready hit enter.)
The other calculator, you guessed exactly right, must be on Send [2nd][Link][SEND][G:SendOS]. (When both calculators hit [ENTER])

If all that does not work, then it may be time to head for a place of worship to pray for its resurection, or look for a repair shop.
Hope it helps
