Good day, javiquez;
The cap C407S that you burnt in the TV is in the circuit that feeds the G-2 to the CRT's. So, it makes sense that your picture quality has suffered. Here is the information on the failed cap and other part I would recommend changeing:
1. C407S; part number 2201-000406; description; c-ceramic,disc; 270 pf, 10%, y5p, 2 kv (2000 volts).
2. D402; part number 0402-00586; description; APIH, 2 kv, 1 a (amp).
Hope this was helpful, good luck, big IRISH.

    Good Day, javiquez;

    It was just a part failure. The G-2 is the voltage that feeds, bias, the CRT's. This type of cap is known to fail because of the high voltage, 2,000 volts, it's used to keep voltage spikes down.

    Replacing these two parts should correct problem and there is nothing you can really do to prevent this from happening again, just good quality replacement parts.

    Good Luck, big IRISH.

Loose Connection for the Green Signal?

Well, first of all, isn't there a warranty on the repair?
It still could be a bad solder connection somewhere but I have seen what is called a G2 / Focus block go bad causing your symptoms.

Working around those tubes is not recommended unless you know what you're doing. You can really mess up the picture or worse, break a tube.

Picture problems

My computer did this and I think my TVs just gone the same way. Was definitely a loose connection somewhere. In the computer monitor it was because the pins in the plug were slightly bent and if I moved the wire the picture got better. In the end I had to replace the connecting cable
