When the lid is closed on your player there is a little switch that is activated (closed) letting the player know you have inserted a disk and you're ready to jam out. Sometimes they are fairly easy to find and sometimes they are located in places that aren't so easy, like in the hinge. For the most part, there will be a hook- like piece extending from the lid of the unit which, when closed will activate the switch on the other half of your player. If you can find this hole where the hook goes into, check to see if it is making contact by taking a tooth pick or something similar ( nothing metal !! ) and activating the switch manually with a cd inserted.

My gpx mw240s says error and i cannot play any music. What else should i try doing?

If your GPX MW240S MP3 player is displaying an error message and not playing any music, there are a few things you can try to fix the issue:
  1. Reset the player: Sometimes resetting the MP3 player can fix the error. To reset the GPX MW240S, press and hold the power button for 10 seconds, release the button, and then turn the player back on.
  2. Check the music files: Ensure that the music files you are trying to play are in a compatible format with the GPX MW240S. The player supports MP3 and WMA formats, and if your files are in a different format, they will not play. You can convert the files using a free online converter.
  3. Update the firmware: If the player's firmware is outdated, it may cause errors while playing music. You can update the firmware by downloading the latest version from the GPX website and following the instructions.
  4. Check the storage space: If the MP3 player's memory is full, it may cause errors. Delete some files from the player to free up space.
If none of these solutions work, there may be a hardware issue with the player, and it may need to be repaired or replaced.

How to put music on a gpx mp3 player?

Make sure your music files are in mp3 format, if you are trying to load wma's or some other format the player may not support it. You can also try going to my computer and finding the player, right click and then format the disk, but this will wipe everything off of the player

"NO FILE"

I solved the problem on my win98se OS by using the drivers from GPX from another mp3 player ( MW6347DT ). Before, it did not find the pci to usb drivers, etc. Now, all the proper drivers are being found.
The MW6347DT driver for win98 can be found here:
