Question about Xerox Phaser 7760/YDX Laser Printer

Part # Trying to obtain Part # for the metal C shaped guide that the Cyan Drum cartridge slides on going into the machine. Can you help?

Mechine is showing drum error and couldnt fix that error .. wht i have to do for fix this error


Sometimes the little metal connectors on the end of the drum make poor contact with wire looking connectors they should line up with inside the machine. with the drum out these connectors should be visable inside on the right. with the machine off, and with a rag lightly dampened with metho give these connectors a bit of a scrub, then make sure the little exposed bits of metal on the end of the drum cartridge are clean of toner and dust, most importantly make sure you are inserting the drum cartridge correctly. also on the drum cartridge there should be a little plastic tab ( its blue i think) that slides side to side, slide this back and forth a few times (it is a cleaning device) make sure you reset it to the side correctly when you are finished.

If that doesnt work, the drum may be faulty or at end of life (25k pages officially, though they usually go a fair bit longer thant that) Maybe its the wrong drum depending on where you are in the world it should be a dr-520 or dr-3100 or dr-3115.

Thats all i can think of right now, but sometimes things occur to me when im not thinking about it, if im able i will add more if it occurs to me. Regards, Andrew.

Help with taking out ink from xerox phaser 8560DN


Power down the printer and raise the upper cover. Beneath, you will find four slides with differently shaped cutouts: yellow, cyan, magenta and black (this is DIFFERENT from usual sequence which is cyan, yellow, magenta and black. Don't ask me why).

Open the ink bags and put the waxy inky shapes in the slides. Each shape can only go in its slide, without forcing.

Once done, close the cover and turn on the printer - wait a couple of minutes for it to stabilize and warm up, then try printing a sample page.

Toner Sensor Error for Cyan and Toner Out for Black


First, I wouldn't worry about the "K toner out", it might finally disappear once you get rid of the Cyan problem, if indeed you replaced the black toner for a new and healthy one.

Make sure that the cyan toner cartridge is securely fitted in it's drum unit, and the "knob" that opens the toner cartridge is in fully open position. Sometimes when manipulating inside the printer the "knob" might get moved a bit.

Generally, the toner cartridge sensor is connected via the drum unit, so usually the problem is with proper seating of the drum unit and good electrical contact between the metal fields on the sides of the drum unit and contacts protruding inside the printer. Cleaning both of any residue might help.

Once I had a defective toner cartridge, that caused such problem, but it was the contact between the toner cartridge and the drum that was broken. You have to experiment a bit.
I'm pretty sure in this model it is possible to swap two units - if you swap for example cyan with magenta, and observe if the error moves from cyan to magenta or not, you can draw conclusions if the problem is with the toner/drum, or with the printer not seeing the cartridge for some reason (sensor inputs killed by static electricity for example).

Large Toner Streak... Bad Imaging Unit?


Check to see if you waste toner recycling for the cyan is working or being blocked. Check the transfer bias roller next to the cyan drum. Return you cyan imaging unit for a warranty replacement. Check for obstructions to the cyan developing unit. Check that the cyan IU was put into the machine properly. Check for toner leaking from the entrance to the developing unit or from the toner cartridge.

My HP 2840 is printing blue lines on the side of the page


3 Causes for printing Blue Lines on the side of the pages.


01. If it happens with test pages from the machine itself as well as docs;then most likely it is a bad cyan cartridge.if you open the drum shutter on the cyan cartridge,can you see a line on the drum?

02. If the Drum is opened and you can see a continuous line of blue toner is at both sides of the drum. Chance of getting blue lines printed on the side of the pages.

03. If the cartridge is leaking then and will need to be changed.thats why it's ending up on the belt also and it prints blue line on the side of the pages.

Have the canon d880 having hard time changing the toner cartridge


The main reason for cartridge replacement problems is the locking mechinasim not fully retracting. When you slide the platen to the left and open the door on the right make sure you open it all the way. It should go to a little mor them a 90 degree angle. You should be able to remove easily at this point when putting cartridge back in if you look at the back wall in betwwen the cartridge guides you will see a white plastic circle with a triangle in the center make sure it is flush with the metal if not push the door a little more to the left.

Hello, Your Xerox has two cartridges - one is the drum cartridge and the other is a toner cartridge. Please check the following I've researched from your user guide:

Replacing the Drum Cartridge
The drum cartridge is a customer replaceable unit. After approximately 55,000 copies/
prints, the machine will display a warning message before the drum reaches the end of
life. Order a replacement cartridge now to insure continuous operation.

Removing the Old Drum Cartridge
1. Pull the front cover towards you to open it.
2. Open Tray 5 (bypass tray) if necessary, and then open Cover A while lifting up
the release lever.
3. Lift up the colored lever, and slide the drum cartridge out until you can lift the
handle on top of the cartridge.
4. Hold the handle and remove the cartridge from the machine.
NOTE: When replacing the drum cartridge, make sure that the new cartridge is the
correct one specified for the machine.


Recycling the Drum Cartridge
The drum cartridge is designed to be re-manufactured. To recycle used drum
cartridges, return them to Xerox in the original packaging. Return labels are included
with each new cartridge.


Inserting the New Drum Cartridge
1. Remove the new drum cartridge from the box.
2. Undo the sealing tape and carefully pull out in the direction of the arrow to
remove the black protective sheet from the cartridge.
3. Place the cartridge in position and, using the handle, slide it into the
machine until it clicks.
4. Pull out the cartridge tape completely without breaking it.
5. Push the cartridge again so that it is correctly placed.
6. Close Cover A until it latches and then close Tray 5 (bypass tray).
7. Close the front cover.

Toner Replacement


The cyan and magenta go into the machine through the same aperture as the yellow toner cartridge. The machine will automaticaly rotate the toner turret to the correct position when toner replacement is necessary for that particular cartridge.
