The first thing you need to do is to take away the color completely, then you adjust the hue until you get the picture looking like a black & white tv, like the old shows that were broadcast in black & white.
Then you can gradually add the color. And thats it your done!

My toshiba 2001 50H81 tv will not converge the colors on the bottom left and the top right it also showes blue color in the bottom corner with double vision and red in the top left.

THERE ARE TWO WAYS TO GO HERE:

1.) You can go into the tech menu and see if the convergence will adjust; I can tell you how to do that; you will need an original working remote for this.

2.) Most likely you need to replace the two STK-392-110 chips this set uses; not real easy but I can tell you how to do it.

If the set will not adjust for convergence the chips and maybe one or more protect resistors around them will have to be replaced.

This kind of repair takes me about a hour and I do it in the customer's home.

Considering that if you can do it, cost will be under 30 dollars total.

Let me know as I am here to help.

I have a ultrascan hd the convergance is off i dont have an owners manuel it tells me to use a curser what do i do to get the red blue right ?

The cursor probably is just a cross in the center of your TV screen whichever color your setting will be a color cross that you want to move by using the up, down, left, right, buttons on your remote. You want to move your color cross over the top of the center cross until it looks like one cross. Generalized setting instructions can be found here.http://www.ehow.com/how_2034880_perform-convergence--tv.html

The colors are not convergeing

GIVE ME EXACT MODEL NUMBER AND I CAN TELL YOU WHAT IS NEEDED TO FIX IT.

Most of these sets use two convergence chips-they will have to be replaced and the set adjusted--if convergence is off and will not adjust--this is what you have wrong.

I can tell you most shops get 300 or more for this repair but if you or someone you know can do it actual parts cost if you buy the parts on Ebay will be under 30.

Based on model number I can tell you which parts it uses and how to fix it.

If this was helpful, rate this solution as I do this here for free.

Color is off, bue will not line up,yellow and

OK, I know this set very well--if convergence in the customer menu is skewed and red or blue will not adjust in some direction, you have a convergence problem.

I can give you (post here) START TO FINISH STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS FOR THIS REPAIR IN THIS MODEL.

It requires that you are able to solder etc---not real hard even if you have never done it before.

Considering you can buy the parts on Ebay for about 20 dollars if you can do it yourself or know someone who can do it for you--you can save the set and a lot of money......most shops get 300 or more for this kind of trouble.

If you want the instructions let me know and I will post them.

I can tell you the best place to get the chips--this set uses two STK-392-110 CHIPS.

Usually just both chips need to be replaced and the set adjusted.

The instructions tell you everything you will need and how to do the fix.

I composed them from my own experience and because many people here ask the same thing you did.

If you have questions etc, let me know. I am here to help people.

If this has helped you, rate this solution as I do this here for free.

Thank you for using Fixya.

Hitachi 43wx20b 43 in. - good picture except for blue haze on words and people. Magic focus does not help. Magic focus shows all three colors. Seems to me that the blue gun is not focusing properly.

OK--for a Hitachi2.gif this set is a little unusual---it uses two of the STK-392-120 CONVERGENCE CHIPS.

Oneor both are bad(usually just one) You need to replace both and anydiscolored resistors around them--all the resistors have locationnumbers and if any are even slightly discolored you need to replacethem and both chips---You can buy a pair of these chips on Ebay forless than 13 dollars plus shipping.

If you remove the back cover (unplug the set first!) look at the circuit board2.gifon the far right side----about 4 inches wide and about 12 inchesdeep---the chips are on the far right side on the large metal piecewith fins.

If you look and find any of the resistors behind them(on the left side of the metal with fins) discolored---note thelocation number printed on top of the circuit board under them (RK46etc) and I can tell you the exact value of that part--most of theresistors that fail are low value and can be tested just like afuse--It is important to find any bad resistors as if you replace thechips and miss any open resistors the set will still have the sameproblem.

THIS IS A EASY SET TO DO THIS REPAIR ON IF YOU KNOW HOW TO SOLDER---I CAN GIVE YOU INSTRUCTIONS IF YOU NEED THEM.

THISKIND OF REPAIR TAKES ABOUT 1 HOUR--THEN YOU ADJUST THE SET WITH THEORIGINAL REMOTE--set should be good to go without having this troublefor 5-8 years.

Let me know if this information helps you---If you are not able to do the repair let me know and I will give you advice

Tv color is dark, and there is lots of green in the picture

sounds like the coolant needs replacement. You can tell by looking into the lens of the CRts while the set is playing. The green and blue are usually the ones that are affected first. If you need to know where to get the coolant kit which contains the coolane and the instructions let me know and I will post the link.

How do I know if it is L6 or L3 chassis

you need to look on the right side of the set (facing the front of the set) for a small label that says
model code...
serial number..
version..
if the version number is blank or PW01 you have the
L3 chassis.
if it says PU02 then you have the L620 chassis
also the L3 chassis has the ballast on a slight angle and the L620 has the ballast straight.
