The drive belt is too loose. you need to tighten the belt that drives the front rolller, which drives the walking belt. depending on the type of treadmill there shoudl be a way you can do this by loosening the motor and adjusting that to tighten the belt. it could also be that the belt needs to be replaced and also could be the walking belt. you should try to tighten the walking belt first. that is at the end of the treadmill where you walk on it. there are two holes one on each side of the treadmill where teh belt goes back under the treadmill. there are allen key bolts that you need to tighten clockwise one turn then try the treadmill. if it doesnt tighten then turn another full turn. if not tight enough then it might be the drive belt. if you tighten the walking belt all the way then try to tighten the drive belt.

Reebok treadmill

Hi James
Unplug unit remove motor shroud then plug unit back in , press start and begin walking on the belt normally and try to stall the belt to make it slip ( planting foot to stop the belt).
Be careful during this test. If the problem is in the drive belt, either the drive belt will stop when stalled or the front roller will stop when stalled. Here is the procedure for adjusting the drive belt.
Find the motor mounts. Many motors in Icon treadmills have a main pivot joint in which a bolt runs the full length of the motor mount. This bolt will require loosening to provide maximum adjustability. Some models have a single jack bolt and others have an auto tensioner. Single jack bolts are the easiest to adjust.
Find the set bolt(s) on the motor. This is typically run through only one side of the motor mount or may be on both sides but it does not run the full length of the mounting. Loosen this bolt(s) but do not remove. Jack bolt models will have flat mounts and may contain up to four bolts.
Look for a bolt that will tension the motor. If it has this bolt, it typically runs in the same direction parallel with the drive and walking belts. If your treadmill is not equipped with this bolt, skip to Step 4. If your treadmill is equipped with this bolt (very few are) the repair will only require one person. Using 2 7/16" wrenches, make a few turns to this bolt, tighten the bolts and test your treadmill for slipping. If belt continues to slip, and if their is too much tension ( you should be able comfortably twist the drive belt 90 degrees ) then replace drive belt.
If the motor, drive belt, and front roller continue to turn when the walking belt is stalled, the problem is with the walking belt slipping on the front roller, here the procedure adjusting the walking belt.
If the walking belt slips when walked on, first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. Using the allen wrench, turn both rear roller bolts clockwise, 1/4 of a turn. When the walking belt is correctly tightened, you should be able to lift each side of the walking belt 3 to 4 inches off the walking platform. Be careful to keep the walking belt centered. Plug in the power cord, insert the key and carefully walk on the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is properly tightened
If the drive belt continues to turn but the front roller stalls, you may have a broken front roller pulley. If this is the problem, you will notice it because the plastic will usually make a loud squealing sound on the metal front roller. The front roller assembly will need to be replaced and the drive belt must be replaced also. We suggest replacing the drive belt as well because it is a low cost item and will most likely, have suffered unusual wear from the problem. Another possibility is that the drive belt has worn down. In some cases, belt dressing may help correct the problem. If not, the drive belt must be replaced.

Reebok 8050es treadmill walking belt has started slipping/skipping. It has been oiled and it is 2 years old.

If the walking belt slips when walked on, first remove the key and UNPLUG THE POWER CORD. Using the hex key, turn both rear roller bolts clockwise, 1/4 of a turn. When the walking belt is correctly tightened, you should be able to lift each edge of the walking belt 2 to 3 in. (5 to 7 cm) above the walking platform. Be careful to keep the walking belt centered. Then, plug in the power cord, insert the key, and carefully walk on the treadmill for a few minutes. Repeat until the walking belt is properly tightened. If you still have slipping then the drive belt under the motor shroud can also cause this problem unplug unit remove shroud then plug unit in start it up observe the front roller to see if it stops if it does locate the tension adjusting bolt by the motor loosen motor mount and proceed adjusting until slipping has been eliminated

The belt is sticking on my treadmill reebok TR3 (RE-11303). What do i do to stop it from sticking?

This is caused by one of three problems. First and most likely, the walking belt is loose. To tighten the belt, start by locating the two bolts that adjust the rear roller (one on each side of the unit in the back). Run the unit at about 3 mph. Tighten the bolts a 1/4 turn at a time. Make sure that what you do to one side, you MUST do to the other side or the belt will get off center. After you tighten it 1/4 turn, check the belt to see if it is still slipping. If it is then tighten the belt 1/4 turn again. Continue until the belt does not slip, but do not tighten the bolts more than 2 full turns. If it takes more than 2 turns then something else is the problem. The second problem that it could be is the drive belt might be loose. To tighten the drive belt, start by removing the front cover. loosen the bolts around the motor then tighten the drive belt by tightening the motor adjuster bolt. Once the drive belt is tight, tighten the motor back down. The third problem that it could be is the walking belt could be worn and need to be replaced. Let me know if you have any questions.

Reebok Vista belt not working properly

There could be 3 different problems with this machine.
1) loose drive belt (this model has a spring loaded idler that tightens the tension)
2) Bad front drive roller (you wil hear the pulley spinning freely on the front roller if the roller is bad)
3)Last is possibly the walk belt itself. May need to be tightened or replaced.
To try to tighten the walk belt, go to the end of the walk belt and find the 2 adjust allan screws in the end and tighten them 2 revolutions clockwise on both screws.
Hope this helps a little. Tim

Reebok RX100 won't work right

Sounds like you could possibly have a bad drive motor or something is wedged into the walk belt somewhere keeping it from turning. Check this out. One more question. How long does the walk belt turn for, seconds, before it stops. Is it like 3 to 5 seconds or less than that.

Reebok i run treadmill stops working after 10 mins

If everything still works but no belt movement, you motor controller is more than likely shot. If replacing you want to also pay attention to the deck and belt. Sence it sut down while running, it sound it an over heating problem which is usually caused from too much friction between the walking belt and the deck(the board under it) May require lube or may need replacing.
