This just worked for me. Printer would not turn on, no lights, nothing.

Took cartridge's out, unplugged from computer and wall outlet. Waited 5 min. Plugged into wall plug first, printer turned on, plugged into computer and reinstalled the ink cartridge's and pc found new hardware ( printer ) and all was working after that.

Unplugging from wall socket and pc, was what I needed to reset it.

10.00.00 supply memory error

The 10.00.00 SUPPLIES MEMORY ERROR is based on the e-label. To clear the error, do the following:
NOTE: If the error occurs, it should appear at beginning of life, causing the error message after first installing the cartridge.
Turn the printer off and on to clear the message.
Put in the old catridge and see what happens.
If OK put in the new one again.
Verify that the print cartridge is a genuine HP cartridge.
Check that the E-label reader is functioning correctly.
Check that there is contact between the E-label chip on the print cartridge and the E-label reader on the printer.
To verify this contact, insert a new print cartridge.
Remove it again.
Check for scratches on the e-label chip and on the cartridge.
If contact is being made, replace the print cartridge (part number: Q2610A).
If contact is not being made, check the toner guides to see if they are in the proper position, or that the cartridge is not damaged.
If the printer has a 500-sheet Tray 3 installed, turn the printer off again and replace the print cartridge with a new HP print cartridge.
Turn the printer on again.
If the error does not clear, turn the printer off and remove tray 3.
Turn the printer on and verify if the error clears.
HP has recently discovered that a 10.00.00 Supplies Memory Error can occur when Tray 3 is faulty.

What ink cartridges does a canon mp520 take? currently using 5 PGBK black, have been told I can use 8 black, but don't know how to install it

Your printer uses 4 cartridges: PGI-5 Black and CLI-8 (Cyan/Magenta/Yellow). Unless you have a slot for a fifth cartridge, CLI-8BK cannot be used in your printer.

As for installing new cartridges:
  1. Turn your printer on.Open the printer's lid. The printer will automatically move the ink cartridges to the center of the opening.
  2. Unplug the printer's power supply cord from the electrical outlet to avoid the risk of an electrical shock.
  3. Remove the printer cartridges by first pressing down on the top of each cartridge housing. Pressing down on the cartridge housings will cause the top of each housing to automatically lift up, thereby exposing the cartridges. Lift the cartridges out of each cartridge housing to remove them.
  4. Install the replacement ink cartridges by first removing the orange safety tape located on either the top or the bottom of each cartridge, depending on the particular type of cartridge. The safety tape ensures that the cartridges do not leak ink before being installed. To remove the tape, simply pull the orange tab on the end of each piece of tape away from each cartridge. Position each cartridge into its cartridge housing so that the printed words on top of the each cartridge faces towards the front of the printer, then close the tops of the cartridge housings.
  5. Plug the printer's power cord into an electrical outlet, then close the access panel by pressing down on the panel.
  6. Turn the printer on and allow the printer a few minutes to recognize the new cartridges, then insert at least three pieces of paper into the paper tray, which the printer will require to align the cartridges.
  7. Align the new cartridges by selecting either the "Clean and Align" or the "Cartridge Alignment" option, depending on the particular printer model. Some Canon models require the user to align the cartridges through the printer's software program. Select the "Print Properties" option in the printer's program, then select the "Clean and Align" option. The printer will produce several printed pages to confirm that the cartridges have been aligned. Other Canon models allow the user to align the cartridges directly from the printer. These printers features a display screen on the printer. Press the "Menu" button on the display, then use the arrow keys to select "Settings." Press the "OK" button, then use the arrow keys to highlight "Maintenance." Press the "OK" button, then use the arrow keys to highlight "Manual Head Align." Press the "OK" button, then use the arrow keys to highlight "Yes." Press the "OK" button one final time, then allow the printer to produce the printed pages confirming that the cartridges have been aligned.

U053 error code, tried removing and replacing cartridges, but code still present, cartridges are compatible as come with printer.

Printing with an empty ink cartridge may cause printer malfunction. U051 / U052
U053 / U059 The ink cartridge may not be set properly, or an ink cartridge not supported by the printer is installed.
Install the proper ink cartridge.

Make sure to install both the ink cartridges even when you set the printer to use only one ink cartridge (Color or Photo) in printing.
If one of the ink cartridges is missing, this error will occur. U075 / U076 The ink cartridges are not installed in the proper position.
Install each ink cartridge in the proper position. U140 An ink cartridge not supported by the printer is installed.
Install the proper ink cartridge. U161 / U162 A used ink cartridge may be installed, or the ink cartridge may be empty.
Replace the ink cartridge.

By pressing the OK button, printing can be done without replacing the ink cartridge. However, the remaining ink amount cannot be detected properly, so the function to detect the remaining ink amount does not operate. READ/WRITE MODE Since the memory card is currently write-enabled, printing is not possible.
Set READ-ONLY MODE ON. NO PHOTOS ON CARD Some images in the memory card may not be in a supported format. images listed below cannot be printed directly from a memory card. Print them from a computer.

- images edited on the computer
- images in a format other than JPEG or TIFF
- images with double-byte characters used in the file name
- images saved in a folder nested 4 or more layers deep INCOMPATIBLE CAMERA The printer cannot communicate with the connected camera.
Disconnect the cable between the printer and the camera to clear the error.
Confirm the following items and print again.

1. Confirm that the camera you are using supports PictBridge or Canon Bubble Jet Direct.
If the camera does not support either one, the printer cannot print directly from the camera.
2. Set the camera in PictBridge print mode before it is connected to the machine. This is required before printing for some cameras that support PictBridge.
Please refer to the camera instructions for more information about procedures required before and after connection to the printer.
3. There may have been no response from the camera for the prescribed time.
Re-connect the cable between the camera and the printer. WASTE INK NEAR FULL The waste ink absorber is getting full.
Press the OK button to clear the error.
Printing can be done until the waste ink absorber becomes full. If the waste ink absorber becomes full, please contact your local Service Center for replacement of the absorber and printer maintenance.

The waste ink absorber is a part inside the printer, which absorbs ink used in the cleaning operations, etc. CHECK PRINTER Turn the printer off, and remove the power plug from the outlet.
About ten minutes later, plug it in again, and turn the printer on.
If the problem is not resolved, the printer may require servicing. Please contact your local Service Center. HEAD ALIGNMENT ERROR Automatic print head alignment failed.
Press the OK button to release the error.
Check the followings and do automatic print head alignment again.

- Check if A4/Letter-sized paper is loaded in the auto sheet feeder.
- Check if the paper output slot is not exposed to a strong light source
- Print the nozzle check pattern to check the status of the print head.

If the problem continues, do manual print head alignment. LOAD PAPER If paper is not set, set paper and press the OK button. When paper is set, check each item and do printing again.

1. Confirm that unusable paper is not set.
2. Confirm that paper is set properly.
3. Confirm that recommended paper is used, and the number of sheets set in the auto sheet feeder is within the limit.
4. Cleaning the paper feed roller may resolve the error.

If the problem persists, the printer may require servicing. Please contact your local Service Center. PAPER JAMMED Remove the jammed paper.
If paper jam frequently occurs, check the following:

1. Confirm that no foreign material is inside the printer.
2. Confirm that unusable paper is not set.
3. Confirm that paper is set properly.
4. Confirm that recommended paper is used, and the number of sheets set in the auto sheet feeder is within the limit.

If the problem persists, the printer may require servicing. Please contact your local Service Center.

HPC4100 printer says black ink cartridge has problem: check & remove then re-install. Followed on-screen instructions carefully (plenty of ink) to check, remove, re-install, then press OK but cycle...

The Printer's liner has a problem with it. Either you are not putting it properly else u applied too much pressure causing the liner to bend.

Printer won't print. Flashing red light. No paper jam and ink cartridges are ok. Please help!!

Per the manual, it's 99.9 % one of these causing the issue. The other .1 % should take it back or get a new one.

The printer requires attention. Try the following:
● If the printer is connected to a computer, check the computer screen for
instructions. If the printer is not connected to a computer, check for the following
problems:
– Top cover open
– Out of paper
– Paper jam
– Print carriage jammed or stuck
– Print cartridge inserted incorrectly
– Incorrect print cartridge installed
● If you are unable to solve the problem by using the instructions above, turn off the
printer and unplug the printer's power cord. Wait one minute, then plug it in again.
Turn on the printer.

We have installed some new print cartridges into the C5280 and we cannot get the printer to wiork. The window on the printer says, 'printer cartridges' refer to printer documentation. Anyone know what to...

Try to unplug the printer from the outlet and the computer, wait for 5-10 min. Then plug only the ac cord back to the wall, turn printer on and see what happens. If it seems ok, then plug back into your computer. Also there is usually a process in the printer program that lets tell the printer it has new carts installed.
